Updated service information is below. Thank you for your patience.

Kerry Ann Fronek (Cornell) passed away peacefully on May 10th, 2026 at the age of 64. Kerry was born on August 5, 1961 in Green Bay to Ronald and Marianne (Benedyk) Cornell.

After surviving a devastating automobile accident in 1982 that left her disabled, she faced life with incredible courage. While the accident changed many things, it never took away her humor, stubborn strength, or ability to light up a room.

Inspite of her disabilities she was a very proud and dedicated worker at Valley Packaging in Appleton for over 30 years. She took pride in sharing the stories of what she had accomplished in a day. Especially the use of her standing table. Reluctantly she had to retire in 2020 due to Covid.

Kerry is survived by her parents, Ronald and Marianne Cornell. Her daughter Angela (Brian) Everson, and grand daughter Ella. Siblings: Tammy (Les) Van Eperen, Timothy (Mandy) Cornell, Kim LaMay, Tricia Socha, Troy (Anne) Cornell, Thadd (Keeley) Cornell, Ty (Sandee) Cornell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kerry is preceded in death by her brother Todd Cornell, brother-in-law Todd LaMay, and nephew Cody Cornell.

She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her ability to make others smile, and the warmth she brought into every room. Though her journey was not always easy, she met life with courage and heart, inspiring many along the way. She loved people and loved to make them laugh.

She leaves behind loved ones who take comfort knowing she is now wheelchair free, probably dancing again, and finally getting front-row seats to the ultimate Elvis concert. Kerry was his biggest fan and loved music.

Visitation will take place on Friday June 19th, 2026 St. Mary Catholic Church, Black Creek, from 9:00 AM until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. David Greskowiak officiating. Burial will take place privately at a later date.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pulaski Country Villa Assisted Living for their wonderful care.

As Kerry would say Elvis's favorite line - Thank you, thank you very much.

In memory of Russ "Chopper" Stingle.

Russ or better known as "Chopper" by friends, passed away peacefully at the age of 65 on June 2nd, 2026, at his home after a 22-month battle with cancer. Born to Dennis & Mildred Stingle (Black Creek), Russ was the youngest of 5 children. He attended school in Black Creek through 8th grade and Seymour High school through the 12th grade.

Russ worked for Outagamie Producers- Alto Dairy- Saputo Cheese for 40 years until semi-retirement. He then began work at Crystal Springs Golf Course and stayed there until his battle with cancer began. He loved working with "The Guys" and was saddened when he couldn't return. No matter if it was at the golf course or at home, he loved mowing and all the neighbors knew it, even earning the "Mow Man" name given to him by his wife.

March of 1980 Russ was united in marriage to Patti Seidl. A little over 14 months later, they welcomed their pride and joy, Angela. Angie followed in her father's footsteps with bat and ball in hand through their school years playing baseball and softball. Today, our 2 granddaughters are following in those same footsteps playing softball for Shiocton School and Summer ball. Russ loved to watch the girls play not only softball, but all the sports they were in.

Russ was talented in working with wood, making and creating cabinets, TV stands, Bear tables, welcome signs and so much more. He loved fishing, ATV trail riding, camping, gardening or just sitting by the campfire in our oasis back yard we built together. Russ was someone that would start up a conversation with anyone, people camping near us, people walking past the house, people tending to the local gas stations, he would talk at length about anything.

Survivors include: His wife Patti of 46 years, daughter Angie (Steven) Beilfuss and their daughters Brenna and Makenna. He is further survived by his mother Mildred Stingle, sister Jean (Tom) Banker, brother Bill Stingle, mother-in-law Marilyn Seidl Lorenz, sisters-in-law: Terri True, Cindy (Randy) Samson, Debbie (Tom Woulf) Seidl, and Katie Collins, along with many nieces and nephews.

Russ was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Stingle, 2 sisters: Linda Tubbs & Melody Stephani, fathers-in-law Thomas Seidl and Edward Lorenz, and brother-in-law Fred True.

A celebration of Russ's life will be held at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Sunday June 14th at 4:00 PM with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Russ will be laid to rest at a later date.

Our family would like to extend our thanks to ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center and ThedaCare Hospice for their compassionate care, especially nurse Katie and CNA Macey.

A very special thank you to family and friends for helping to get Russ to and from appointments, keeping our driveway clean of snow, and the upkeep of the lawn and gardens. I couldn't have done it without all of YOU!

In memory of Nathan West.

Nathan Thomas West, resident of Black Creek, WI, was born on July 28, 1975 and passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2026 with family by his side. If you knew him, you no doubt remember his love and energy. He made friends easily and everyone was his buddy - greeted with a high five or a hug. And he gave the greatest hugs.

Nathan enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Some memorable experiences include the pinewood derby, foil dinners, bubble relays, and the black eyed pea scavenger hunt in Cub Scouts. Special Olympics bowling had everyone baffled on how he got that perfect spin on the ball. Canoe trips with family that had everyone cackling like a chicken just to hear the echo in the tunnel. Silly things that we sometimes don't remember the beginning of, but became family traditions and spawned lots of love and laughter.

Nathan loved to dance. If you attended Seymour High School when he was there, you would remember him dancing next to the pep band and the cheerleaders as he cheered his team on. If you attended any family gathering, you would remember his hugs and how no one would be able to drag him off the dance floor. He also cut a rug at the 3rd Street Diner Christmas parties where he worked for many years.

His greatest passions were country music and the Packers. Many days growing up were spent poring over the newest magazines or newspapers to find information on his favorite players while Garth Brooks, John Denver, or Ronnie Milsap played loudly on repeat in the background (at least until July 29th when Christmas season began in the house).

Nathan is survived by his parents, Barbara and William; his siblings Andrew (Megan) West and Amber (Daniel) Kemppainen; their children Annaliese and Michaela Kemppainen; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Anna West; aunts, Kathy Michaelson and MaryJo Wallis; uncles, Gerald Bastian, Dale Thompson, Tom Wallis, and Thomas West; grandparents, George and Genevieve West and Agnes and Vincent Adomaitis.

We would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at ThedaCare Memorial Hospital and Hospice for their care.

Funeral services for Nathan will be held at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour at 11:00 am on Friday, June 5, 2026 with Deacon Jeff Hofacker officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association.

In memory of William "Bill" Collar.

William Elmer Collar, 82, of Seymour passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 25, 2026 at home. Bill was born to Elmer and Mary Collar in Menasha on August 4, 1943. The family moved to Hortonville when he was five years old where he graduated from high school in 1961. He lettered in football, wrestling and baseball. In 1966 Bill graduated from UW-La Crosse with a B.S. Degree majoring in Social Studies with a minor in Physical Education. He started at offensive tackle for four years and captained the football team his senior year when he was named first team all-conference.

On June 11, 1966 Bill married his college sweetheart Holly Havill. They both taught at Antigo Junior High for two years where Bill was assistant to legendary football coach, Gordy Schofield. After earning his M.S. Degree from La Crosse, Bill returned to his alma mater as assistant director of housing from 1968 to 1971. While at UW-La Crosse, Bill was head freshman football coach one year and varsity offensive line coach for two years under the direction of National College Hall of Fame Coach Roger Harring. Bill returned to La Crosse every summer for 25 years as director of a football lineman's camp.

In 1972, the Collars moved to Seymour where Bill taught history and was head football coach and assistant track coach for 29 years. During his tenure in Seymour, Bill took great pride in his teaching; he was nominated by his students and recognized as Wisconsin Social Studies Teacher of the Year in 1977 and State Teacher of the Year in 1989. With the help of dedicated assistants, Bill pumped life into a struggling football program winning several Bay Conference Championships, a state championship in 1985 and a state runner-up in 1991. He also coached several individual state champions and numerous state place winners in the shot put and discus. An innovative coach, Bill was one of the first in the state to implement a weightlifting program to supplement sports. His contribution to high school sports was recognized by being inducted into the WFCA Hall of Fame in 2000 and the National Coaches Hall of Fame in 2005.

After retiring from teaching in 2001, Bill expanded his "All The Way With PMA!" speaking business giving as many as forty presentations a year at banquets, conferences, workshops and teacher in-service programs. He authored two books, "Exceeding the Standards: Teaching With Pride, Poise and Passion" and a youth character building book, "It's More Than A Game." He also edited a mentoring manual for the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association. Bill served as vice president of the Wisconsin Council of Social Studies, directed the Teacher World program, and was President of the WFCA.

Having a keen interest in local history, Bill was a charter member of the Seymour Community Historical Society serving as president for many years and spearheading a campaign to build a new community museum in 2012. He was honored as Seymour's Citizen of the Year in 2010.

Bill and Holly celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2025. Their spare time was spent traveling throughout the United States visiting historical sites and museums and attending and supporting their grandchildren in their activities.

Treasuring Bill's memory are his beloved wife Holly and daughters Susan (Brian) Brashaw of Duluth, Angela (Scott) VerVoort of Black Creek and Sarah VerVoort of Shiocton. Bill enjoyed many good times with his grandchildren: Cheyenne, Cole, Justin, Devin, James, Levi, and Hannah, and his first great grandchild, Waylon. Bill is also survived by his brothers Larry (Ann) Collar of Wisconsin Rapids, Rick Collar of Wisconsin Rapids, Randy (Pam) Collar of Wisconsin Dells, and former son-in-law Glen VerVoort of Shiocton. He was preceded in death by his brother Marty and parents Elmer and Mary (Reimer) Collar.

Bill often remarked, "I had a great life, a terrific wife, three exceptional daughters who are all teachers and grandchildren who have made me proud. What more can a person ask for?"

The family is planning a private memorial service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Seymour Community Historical Society, PO Box 237, Seymour, WI 54165. Checks should be written to the "Seymour Community Historical Society".

In memory of Jay Norman Maass.

On Friday, May 22, 2026, a train bound for heaven pulled away from the station with a special passenger. Born March 6, 1974, Jay Norman Maass entered this world not knowing he would teach those around him so much more than he could ever be taught himself. The loving son of Warren and Gloria Maass, Jay attended school at Syble Hopp and Plamann School before graduating with Seymour High School's Class of 1995. He later enjoyed his time working at Valley Packaging. While Jay endured the effects of Tuberous Sclerosis his entire life, he leaves this world finally free of those challenges.

Jay lived a full life defined by the simple things he loved. He didn't need much to be happy-his family, a place to watch trains, a stack of books, the bowling alley, and a cold Pepsi. A frequent visitor to the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay and Laona Camp 5, Jay could spend hours watching steam engines, reminding us all to appreciate the journey as much as the destination.

That same enthusiasm followed him to the lanes. Every birthday, Jay celebrated with a bowling party at Wally's in Seymour, surrounded by family. He was truly at home with a bowling ball in his hand; with every strike, spare, or gutter ball, his smile would light up the alley. He taught us that the best part of the game wasn't the score, but the cheers from the sidelines.

When he wasn't train watching or bowling, Jay was content with a stack of books by his side. He carried his books everywhere he went, finding joy in flipping through the pages and looking at the pictures, but he loved being read to most of all. Fittingly, The Little Red Caboose was read to him multiple times during his final day. No matter the activity, Jay almost always had a Pepsi nearby-his favorite treat, which he enjoyed until the very end.

We learned more from Jay about patience, unconditional love, and perseverance than we could have ever gained from any book. He leaves this world a little quieter without his talking and laughter, but far better for having had him in it. Jay, you will be so deeply missed.

Jay is survived by his parents, Warren and Gloria; his siblings, James W. Maass, Mike (Connie) Maass, Becky (Bob) Fandrey, and Sara Maass-Pate (Dan); his nieces and nephews, Joe (Anna) Maass, Melissa (Collin) Wienkes, Brandon Maass, Jacob Maass, Ella Fandrey, Audrey Pate, Amanda Pate, and Autumn Pate; great nephews Korbin and Jaxon Wienkes and Colson Maass; his aunts, Jean Keune and Julie Marcks; uncle Merle Maass; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his Godmother, Janet Maass; uncles, Glen Maass and Bob Keune; and his grandparents, Norman and Verla Maass and Marvin and Gertrude Marcks.

Our family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregivers, Dave Lahman and Lahbib Daoudi. Thank you for your devoted care over the years; you treated him like your own and our family will forever be grateful. We also thank the staff of County Rescue, Theda Clark Regional Medical Center, Theda Care Hospice, and the many doctors and nurses who cared for Jay's needs over the last 52 years.

Funeral services for Jay will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Wednesday May 27th at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Jay will be laid to rest at the parish cemetery following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Emmanuel Lutheran Inclusive Park.
