Congratulations to Amy Pettit, CNO and VP of Patient Care Services, Schneck Nursing and the Entire Schneck Team for receiving Magnet Designation for the 5th time.

Magnet designation is considered the gold standard for nursing excellence and is achieved by fewer than 10% of hospitals nationwide. May 23 is National Medical Coder Day

We want to recognize our medical coders who work very hard to get accounts out the door as quickly and as accurately as possible every day! Their main job is to turn documentation into a billable language for insurance reimbursement. These coders are also responsible for communicating education to their areas, practices and providers, reviewing documentation for accuracy and reimbursement requirements, and keeping up with current changes in coding guidelines among many other things.

Schneck has 16 full time coders whose work impacts everything from hospital reimbursement to national health statistics. Their work may be behind the scenes, but their impact is deep. Our coders are required to hold a valuable credential from either AHIMA or AAPC which additionally requires continuing education to maintain their credential. They take their jobs very seriously and hold themselves to a high standard. We are proud of the work they produce!

As a group, our coders have over 238 years of experience!

If you know a Schneck coder, please join us in celebrating them!
