Giving birth to a human is no easy task. The postpartum period can bring depression, anxiety, OCD, and in rare cases, psychosis. Knowing the difference matters, and recognizing the warning signs can save lives.

As families, communities, and a healthcare system, we need to do better at recognizing when a mother is struggling and helping her get the care she needs.

Postpartum mental illness is real and requires immediate care and attention.

Look around you. Check on the new moms in your life. Offer support. You may save a life. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน
