We would like to give a shout-out to The Owl Shoppe in downtown Shawnee. It’s a locally owned restaurant serving delicious food of all kinds. There’s something there for everyone. Mandi (the chef and owner) is also now offering meal preps which are pictured below. She was kind enough to bring some by and we cannot say thank you enough! 🤍 go give her restaurant a visit. You will not be disappointed!

Speech Language Pathologist Spotlight of the Week:
Jennifer Panter, M.S., CCC-SLP

- How many years have you been an SLP? 21 years

- What is your favorite delay/disorder to work with?
Early intervention...pre-verbal communication and play-based therapy. Apraxia of speech is also a love of mine.

- What is your favorite therapy material/game to use?
Bubbles 🫧

- Why did you become an SLP?
I have always been drawn to people, especially children. I believe everyone deserves to be understood. I love meeting children where they are, building a rapport, and helping them communicate in whatever mode is best for them (verbal/AAC). It is truly a gift to support the child and caregivers along the way!

- Favorite Things To Do:
Spend time with my two daughters, drink coffee under my trees, laugh, and sit fireside.

Speech Language Pathologist Spotlight of the Week:
Shalynn Watson, M.S., CCC-SLP

- How many years have you been an SLP?
7 years in the field - (2 SLPA, 5 SLP)

- What is your favorite delay/disorder to work with?
Early Language/Preverbal Communication Skills & AAC ♾️

- What is your favorite therapy material/game to use?
Bubbles 🫧 or Mini objects 🧸

- Why did you become an SLP?
I truly believe communication is the most vital form of connection we have. I love helping children build strong connections and confidence in new skills. As a parent myself, I wanted to help others feel empowered in supporting their children find their voice! (And I think SLP is the coolest job ever!🤩)

- Favorite Things To Do:
Spending time with my husband and our 3 children🤍, going to concerts🎶, and buying iced coffees🧋

Speech Language Pathologist Spotlight of the Week:
Shelby Mills, M.S., CCC-SLP

- How many years have you been an SLP? 8 years

- What is your favorite delay/disorder to work with? Fluency is near and dear to my heart as I am also a person who stutters.

- What is your favorite therapy material/game to use? The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game is always a great go-to game.

- Why did you become an SLP? I went through speech therapy myself as a teenager and even through college for my stuttering. My speech therapist made me want to change others' lives in the same way she changed mine.

- Fun Fact? I can cross just one of my eyes and can also shake my eyes. Haha!
