As a sidenote - many people don't know what they are getting into when they start Pilates. It takes a certain level of commitment, responsibility, self motivation, and on top of that it's an investment.

--- (another sidenote and probably too honest that I shouldn't share publicly- but here goes...)

I get it's "trendy" right now...yuck! I somewhat hate that it's "trendy" ...and as business owner - in the industry - "sure, it's great..." But as a person who highly respects the practice and holds a high standard to the work - I don't love the oversaturation of hype that it's getting. It's not about the hype...it's not about the trend. It's about the work, the legacy and the transformation of what this practice has created. (And those in studio know this and share a wonderful experience)

Although, maybe there is something to the hype and something about the time that we live-in, that people NEED a means to gravitate AWAY from the craziness of the world... and this is a safe space for many people to detach from phones, news, social media and be able to connect on a deeper level. So for THAT I am thankful that Pilates is finding a place in people's hearts and schedules.
..But personally I don't think or care about the "hype"... it's about something much more. My 20+ years of being addicted to the work didn't start with the hype or the trends. It started with a true interest in the work at a young age.

Option 2 : Swimming on rotation from one machine to the next... including side swimming and teaser as transition from one side to the other

Option 3 : Feet in straps ONLY

Option 4 : Stretching only, might include supine for the whole hour...naps encouraged

Or "...that was a good stretch."

Well, You have to stretch your muscles to work them...and having mobility and strength is actually a great combination.

Anyone else confused why in Barre Fitness classes you would see girls with their heels touching?!

It turned me off to Fitness so bad as a young person...I was like-so-judgy...🫠
..And now I teach it!!! (My-my how the tables have turned)

In all honesty: Different styles, different techniques...I now teach "there is no right way or wrong way - it is just the way we are going to do it today!" 🙌

It's just movement y'all - don't stress! Hold the judgment!
