Hi friends — Charlotte here 🐾

Last week I had a terrific day at the North Central Ohio Junior Achievement Inspire to Hire event held at the Ashland University Niss Athletic Center. I got to meet so many amazing middle and high school students (almost 1,700 to be exact) while helping Jake, Holly Hoffman from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, and Andrew Allman and Geoffrey Gompf from the Ohio Funeral Directors Association share what funeral service is really all about.

Some students wanted to know what it’s like working at a funeral home, some stopped by just to pet me (which I fully supported and loved), and others shared stories about their own pets and families. I saw future nurses, counselors, business leaders, first responders, and maybe even a few future funeral directors.

One thing I learned? Every student has a different dream, personality, and path ahead of them. I loved seeing students ask thoughtful questions, step outside their comfort zones, and explore careers they may have never considered before.
