🤍 AT EASE BODYWORK | A LITTLE REMINDER ABOUT YOUR HEALTH & MY SCOPE OF PRACTICE 🤍
As a licensed massage therapist, I take my responsibility to provide safe, effective, and professional care very seriously.
I want to take a moment to explain what I specialize in, what falls outside of my current training, and why my intake forms and health questions are so important.
🌿WHAT I FOCUS ON
At Ease Bodywork focuses on:
- Relaxation and therapeutic massage
- Stress relief and nervous system relaxation
- Muscle tension and discomfort
- Prenatal massage
- General wellness and self-care
- Helping clients slow down, relax, and reconnect with their bodies
🌿WHAT I DO NOT HAVE SPECIALIZED TRAINING IN
While I am licensed and trained in massage therapy, there are certain areas that require additional education and specialized training that I have not completed, including:
- Oncology massage for clients undergoing cancer treatment or living with active cancer
- Manual lymphatic drainage and specialized lymphedema treatment
- Other complex medical conditions requiring specialized massage techniques or adaptations beyond my current training
This does not mean individuals with these conditions cannot benefit from massage. It simply means they may need a therapist with additional training to provide the safest and most appropriate care.
📝 WHY YOUR INTAKE FORMS MATTER
Those health history forms, consent forms, and questions I ask before your appointment are NOT just paperwork.
They help me understand your health history, medications, recent surgeries, medical conditions, and any potential reasons your massage may need to be modified, postponed, or referred to another provider.
I ask these questions because YOUR SAFETY MATTERS.
🚨 EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
All required intake forms, health history information, and consent documents MUST be completed and signed before your massage begins.
If your forms are incomplete or unsigned when you arrive, your massage will not begin until everything has been properly completed and reviewed.
If I determine that your needs fall outside my training or that massage may not be appropriate at that time, I reserve the right to postpone or decline the session.
Please understand that this is not personal. It is professional.
I will never pretend to have training that I don't have, and I will never put someone's health at risk simply to fill an appointment.
I am incredibly grateful for the trust my clients place in me, and part of honoring that trust means recognizing my professional limitations.
Thank you for respecting my policies, my education, and the care I put into every session.
