Bodyworkers and friends living with chronic pain, this one’s for you!

Two friends published books this past year, and I’m proud to share them. First up: Troy Lavigne!

Troy and I both graduated from Boulder College of Massage Therapy. He has a brilliant mind and a playful spirit—we’ve spent plenty of time laughing and tearing around Denver on scooters.

As education chair for Colorado’s American Massage Therapy Association, Troy invited me to teach my Anatomy in Clay peripheral nerve entrapment course. He’s also shared his knowledge with our Wholesum practitioners over Zoom.

A gifted educator, a generous human, and a friend I’m grateful to know. Please check out his book and support his work!

It is not about positive thinking, willpower, or convincing yourself you're fine. It is about understanding the biology of what is actually happening in your nervous system — and using that understanding to create real, lasting change. Whether you've had pain for three months or thirty years,...

Great therapists never stop growing.

At Wholesum, we give our therapists a clear path to keep learning:

APPRENTICE → RESIDENT → MASTER

Through education, hands-on experience, and mentorship from Michael Moore and his 30 years in massage therapy, we support each therapist as they develop their craft.

Today we celebrate Brea for her hard work and advancement from Apprentice to Resident!

Congrats, Brea! You earned it!

For 30 years, I've helped people feel better with my hands.

The longer I've been in this profession, the more I've realized something important:

Health isn't just about muscles and joints.

As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, I've been learning even more about the powerful role that connection, purpose, movement, nutrition, sleep, and stress management play in long-term health.

One article I recently read hit me hard.

Loneliness—especially among older men—isn't just an emotional issue. It's associated with poorer physical and mental health, and can contribute to cardiovascular disease, depression, cognitive decline, and premature death.

That reminded me why I love what we do at Wholesum.

Yes, we help people move better.

Yes, we help relieve pain.

But sometimes what our clients need most is someone to listen, encourage them, and help them reconnect with their bodies and their lives.

A treatment session can be more than therapy.

It can be human connection.

Take care of your body.

Reach out to a friend.

Go for a walk.

Join a class.

Ask someone how they're really doing.

Health is built one choice—and one connection—at a time.
