I just did a supplement review with a client last night. Quality and sourcing was one of the topics of discussion last night and I thought it was important to share these words from a fellow colleague, Melissa Muir LeGeyt because she captures how I feel about this breaking news in the supplement world.
“I've been following the news that Procter & Gamble is acquiring Thorne, and as someone who recommends supplements professionally, it's something I'm paying close attention to.
One of the biggest reasons I do what I do is because I want my clients using products I genuinely trust. Not all supplements are created equal, and quality matters. That's why I'm very intentional about the brands I recommend. I look for companies that prioritize research, testing, ingredient sourcing, and transparency—not just marketing.
When a practitioner-trusted company is acquired by a large consumer goods corporation, it's natural to wonder what that could mean over time. Sometimes nothing changes. Other times, we've seen product formulations, sourcing, or company priorities shift after acquisitions. It's too early to know what will happen with Thorne, but it's something I'll be watching closely.
My commitment hasn't changed: I'll continue to evaluate the evidence, review quality standards, and recommend products based on what's best for my clients—not based on brand recognition or popularity.
Your health deserves more than the cheapest option on the shelf. It deserves products backed by science, manufactured with integrity, and chosen with care.
As always, if I ever feel a brand no longer meets the standards I expect, I'll find one that does. My priority will always be helping my clients make informed decisions and giving them access to supplements I feel confident recommending.”
