Meet Mindy, one of TRC’s physical therapists! In celebration of National Physical Therapy Month, we asked Mindy a few questions.

What inspired you to pursue a career in physical therapy?
"I was an advertising, public relations, and journalism major and had a very close friend sustain a TBI (brain injury). Watching his rehab journey made me want to make a difference in helping people recover from trauma and physical setbacks."

What do you enjoy most about your work at TRC?
"The small town/family environment, and the passion to make sure that individuals of all ages are able to get the rehabilitative care they need, particularly when they could be turned away elsewhere."

What is something you enjoy doing outside of work?
"Being outside and with nature and attending church."

Thank you, Mindy, for sharing a little about yourself and for the care you provide to TRC’s patients and families!

Happy National Physical Therapy Month!

Physical therapy helps people improve movement, build strength, manage pain, recover from injuries, and participate more safely in daily life.

Throughout the month, we’ll be introducing TRC’s PT/PTAs so you can get to know the people behind the care. Stay tuned!

Our speech team at TRC is participating in the Walk for Apraxia this fall and we are asking for donations to this amazing cause!! We have some kiddos at TRC with an Apraxia diagnosis who are working so hard to reach their goals!!

Every dollar you donate goes directly to supporting children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) and helps their families have the resources and education they need so that every Apraxia Star can find their voice. Thank you all☺️

A special thank you to the W.B. and Ellen Gordon Stuart Trust for their generous grant, which made it possible for one of our clients to take home their very own AAC device today!

An AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device is a tool that helps people communicate when they have difficulty speaking. This device and app allow our friend to select words, pictures, and symbols to express their thoughts, needs, wants, and feelings.

Having access to an AAC device helps bridge the communication gap, fosters greater independence, and, most importantly, gives them a voice.
