As many of you know, the Arkansas summer heat is NO JOKE...and neither is a heat stroke for your sweet animals!

Many pet owners don't realize how quickly a pet can overheat. In just a matter of minutes, a fun walk or a quick errand can turn into a serious medical situation.

These are the warning signs to know:
⚠️ Heavy panting
⚠️ Excessive drooling
⚠️ Bright red gums
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Weakness or lethargy
⚠️ Confusion or disorientation
⚠️ Collapse

If you notice any of these signs, don't wait to see if your pet improves on their own. Heat stroke can progress rapidly and requires immediate veterinary attention! A little extra caution today could save your pet's life!

Everyone sees the clean exam rooms, the cute puppies, and the pretty building.

What you don’t always see are the medications we carefully calculate, the anxious pets we sit with until they feel safe, the surgeries that require complete focus, or the countless little moments that happen behind the scenes.

Veterinary medicine is equal parts science, skill, and heart...and I wouldn’t trade it for anything 💙🐾
