Our four-season indoor/outdoor pool recently received a nearly $150,000 makeover, with improvements ranging from new plaster and tile to an upgraded retractable ceiling, mechanical systems, pool deck, and more. And the updates didn’t stop there — our fitness center has also been refreshed with new flooring, lighting, and equipment.
These aren’t just beautiful spaces. They’re places where residents exercise, socialize, connect with neighbors, and make wellness part of everyday life.

A beautiful new addition is taking root at The Heritage of Green Hills. Our new sensory-rich Butterfly Garden near the Care Center has started to bloom, creating a peaceful space for residents, families, and visitors to enjoy while supporting butterflies and other pollinators with native plants.

The project brings our Environmental Wellness dimension of Well By Design to life by embracing nature and encouraging environmental stewardship throughout our community.

A special thank you to the Butterfly Garden Advocates Committee for making this vision a reality: Chairperson Ruth Martelli, Grace Andre, Carolyn Edwards, Linda Walmer, Doris Wentling, and Jim Williamson (Pictured meeting with members of Leadership Berks, who was a partner in the project. Resident Ellen Lancz is also pictured admiring the beginning stages of their efforts.)

We can't wait to watch this garden grow. Learn more about all 8 dimensions of wellness of our Well By Design program at https://heritageofgreenhills.com/wellness/.

WFMZ featured our National Pennsylvania Day food, toiletries, and clothing drive. The theme for this year’s PA Day was “Pennsylvanians Helping Pennsylvanians” through acts of service, focusing primarily on food insecurity.

In addition to collecting items for Helping Harvest food bank in Reading, Pa., we celebrated Pennsylvania with live music by well-known Berks County guitarist David Cullen during lunch, along with visits from Uncle Sam and The Pretzel (actually residents in costume), who handed out freshly made soft pretzels baked by the community's top-notch culinary team.
