The families we work with who have the smoothest transitions in September are almost never the ones who started preparing in August.

They're the ones who gave their child time to practice, struggle a little in a safe place and build something real before the first day asked them to use it.

For kids who feel things intensely, kindergarten is a lot. New space, new people, new demands, all at once, every day. That's not insurmountable. But it's also not something a few weeks of prep fixes.

If your child already has a hard time with transitions, with waiting, with going from calm to flooded in under a minute, those things don't disappear in September. They show up in the classroom. The question is whether they show up with some tools or without any.
