To the Board of Directors, the Spouses and Members of the Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered EMTs (LANREMT):

As I conclude my term as President of the Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered EMTs, effective July 1, 2026, I do so with a heart filled with gratitude, pride, and humility. Serving as your President over the past two years has been one of the greatest honors and privileges of my professional career.

I extend my sincere appreciation to our Board of Directors, our dedicated members, and the spouses and families who have supported the countless hours of service, sacrifice, and commitment required to advance our mission.

LANREMT stands today as a strong and respected organization because of individuals who have consistently stepped forward to serve others before themselves. Your dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence have made our association what it is today.

It has been a tremendous honor to lead this great organization during such a historic period in our association’s history. Serving as President during our 50th Anniversary celebration was a privilege that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Together, we celebrated not only our rich heritage but also the enduring legacy of those who built and sustained this organization for generations.

I am especially proud of the partnerships we established and strengthened with the Louisiana Rural Ambulance Alliance, the Louisiana Ambulance Alliance, the Louisiana Bureau of EMS and our Sponsors and Vendors. Through collaboration, shared vision, and dedication, we were able to host one of the most successful educational events in our organization’s history, the 2026 Louisiana EMS Education Conference and Expo.

I am also proud and thankful of those who attended the 2026 conference, the sacrifices that were made by our members, speakers, attendees, departments and services for the support of your members even while dealing with budget restraints and staffing concerns. Thank you for your support and attendance at this year’s EMS education conference.

This achievement belongs to all of us and serves as a testament to what can be accomplished when we work together toward a common purpose. As our new administration assumes leadership on July 1, 2026, I offer my full support and encouragement.

I am confident that LANREMT will continue to grow, innovate, and thrive through fresh ideas, new perspectives, and the continued commitment of its members. I encourage each of you to fully support our incoming leadership as they guide our association into its next chapter.

Leadership is never about one individual; it is about the collective commitment to serve a mission greater than ourselves.
As President Harry S. Truman famously stated: “It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.”

Thank you for the trust you placed in me, for your friendship, and for allowing me the privilege of serving as your President. I leave this office with tremendous pride in what we have accomplished together and with great optimism for the future of the Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered EMTs.

Fire Chief Ken Bouvier,
On behalf of the Board of Directors and membership of the Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered EMTs, we extend our heartfelt prayers, encouragement, and support to you during this time.
As public safety professionals, we understand that leadership often carries burdens unseen by others. The responsibilities of protecting a community, guiding personnel, and making difficult decisions can be demanding both professionally and personally. Throughout your career, you have answered the call to serve others with dedication, courage, and commitment, and for that we are deeply grateful.
Today, we pray that God will surround you with His peace, strength, wisdom, and protection. May you find encouragement in the support of your family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives you have touched through your service.

Thanks to everyone who has prayed & checked on me.

Sunday, I experienced chest pain and was transported to West Jefferson Hospital.

Angiogram showed that the 4 stints I received after my 2013 heart attack has out lasted their expectancy and is now showing several blockages that will need to be corrected with Cardiac Bypass Surgery.

Now at East Jefferson Hospital where the surgery will be done in a few days. Surgery is being delayed because I have to be off my blood thinner medicine for at least 5 days. In the main time, I will remain hospitalized so they can manage my chest pains.

This surgery and rehab will be a setback, but I'm confident in my doctor's and with the support of my faith, family and friends - I'll get through this!

Congratulations, Ms. Kim Neal , and thank you for all you do!!

🎉 Pointe Coupee Parish is proud to spotlight one of our own: Ms. Kim Neal! 🎉

Last week, Ms. Kim Neal traveled to Shreveport to present and educate at the statewide EMS conference, where she shared a message that is both her life's mission and her heart's deepest calling, the life-saving power of organ donation.

Ms. Neal is an EMS/EMR Instructor with Pointe Coupee Parish School Board, but her passion for organ donation education goes far beyond the classroom. For Ms. Neal, this work is deeply personal. She is the proud mother of David John Neal (her only son), whose selfless decision to donate his organs gave others the precious gift of life. In his honor, Ms. Neal has dedicated herself to spreading awareness, breaking down barriers, and making sure that no one underestimates how many lives a single donor can save.

Standing in front of a room full of EMS leaders and professionals from across Louisiana, Ms. Neal carried David's legacy with her. She is a true champion for organ donation, and we could not be more honored to call her a part of the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board family. 💙💚💛💜
