Celebrating Environmental Services Week!

This week we celebrate the amazing Environmental Services team at The Glen! From housekeepers and janitors to laundry attendants and our grounds and maintenance teams, these hardworking employees do so much each day to make The Glen a welcoming place for our residents and families.

Today, we showed our appreciation with a cookout! The grill was going with hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage, and there was plenty of good conversation and laughter, too.

We’re grateful for these team members who take pride in what they do and make a difference every day.
Thank you to our Environmental Services team, we appreciate you more than you know!

The Glen is proud to host the Louisiana Society of Animal Artists as our Featured Artists.

The Louisiana Society of Animal Artists is a local organization dedicated to celebrating wildlife and the beauty of nature through fine art. Their extraordinary collection of artwork will be on display at The Glen from September through November.

We invite you to join us at the Artists’ Reception on Friday, September 18, from 2-3 p.m. in The Glen Auditorium, where you'll have the opportunity to meet the artists and view their inspiring work.

Ready, set, touch the color!

Residents at The Cottages enjoyed a fun game of Touch the Color! Friendly competition had everyone focused and engaged as they raced to find the right color, sharing plenty of smiles and laughter along the way.

For individuals living with memory loss, interactive games provide a fun way to encourage thinking, movement, and social engagement.

Stiles residents got moving during Sit & Fit!
This exercise class is a fun way to work on strength, flexibility, and movement. Residents stretched, moved, and had fun staying active, proving that fitness can fit everyone!

Bringing a little sunshine into the season ahead!

As summer begins to make way for fall, sunflowers are the perfect touch for both seasons! Redbrook residents got creative making beautiful sunflower door baskets to add a cheerful, seasonal welcome to their residences.

A little imagination and a lot of sunshine came together during our Sunflower Basket Craft. Residents enjoyed crafting while visiting with friends and creating something special to display and enjoy.
Activities like these are just one of the many ways residents can explore their interests, connect with neighbors, and enjoy doing what they love at Redbrook.

The Cottages were rocking and rolling when Elvis came into the building!

Residents sang along to familiar favorites, danced to the music, and even joined Elvis for a few moves of their own.

Music can be especially meaningful for individuals living with memory loss, offering opportunities to reminisce, engage with others, and express themselves through singing and movement.

The Glen's monthly Caregivers Memory Loss Support Group meetings are open to anyone who has a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's or other forms of memory loss.

Please join us at our next meeting on Thursday, September 3, at 5:30 p.m. in the Harrell Library at The Glen, 403 East Flournoy Lucas Road. This month's topic of discussion will be “Balancing Safety and Independence”.
