We have extended our services over the years to offer a multitude of living options to the senior women and men of our community as well as support services and community outreach programs that benefit those who live beyond our campuses. Our l

iving options include: Independent Living Apartments, Assisted Living Apartments, Assisted Living Apartments with Memory Care Services, and a Skilled Nursing Care Community with Short-term Rehabilitation & Memory Care services.

What a wonderful afternoon spent celebrating art, creativity, and inspiration!

We were honored to welcome Gretchen Crawford, our featured artist, to a special artist reception. Residents enjoyed delicious refreshments while hearing Gretchen share her inspiring journey of becoming an artist at the age of 50. She also spoke about her involvement with the local Creative Art Connection, encouraging others to embrace creativity at any stage of life.

Thank you, Gretchen, for sharing your beautiful artwork, your passion for the arts, and the story behind your creative journey.

Over the past two months, our residents traveled the length of Historic Route 66 without ever leaving home!

From Illinois to California, we explored iconic roadside attractions, sampled regional favorites, enjoyed armchair travel presentations, themed activities, crafts, and made unforgettable memories together.

We wrapped up our adventure with our Redbrook Diner Last Stop Sock Hop, celebrating the friendships, laughter, and experiences we shared along the way. As an added bonus, our Route 66 fitness challenge kept us moving all summer long, and together we completed all 2,448 miles of the Mother Road!

The Glen's monthly Caregivers Memory Loss Support Group meetings are open to anyone who has a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's or other forms of memory loss.

Please join us at our next meeting on Thursday, August 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the Harrell Library at The Glen, 403 East Flournoy Lucas Road. This month's topic of discussion will be “Maintaining Confidence in Caregiving.”

The Glen is proud to feature Gretchen Crawford as our Featured Artist.

Gretchen is an award-winning artist residing in Bossier City. While she always doodled when she was young growing up in New Orleans, she didn’t take her first art lesson until age 50. As a member of local group Creative Art Connection, she enjoys working with a variety of media and has shown her pieces at numerous locations around town.

Her beautiful artwork will be on display from July through August. We invite you to view the collection at the Artist’s Reception on Friday July 31, from 2-3pm in The Glen Auditorium.

We made it to California, the final stop on our Route 66 armchair adventure!

This week, residents celebrated the Golden State with a delicious California Taco Stand and enjoyed a slice of pie during our California Dreaming Bingo and wrapped up the week with a showing of the classic movie Grease to get everyone in the sock hop spirit!

What an incredible journey it's been traveling the Mother Road together from Illinois all the way to the Pacific Coast. We've shared great food, laughter, memories, and made plenty of stops along the way.

Next up, celebrating the end of the road at our Last Stop Sock Hop as we commemorate reaching the iconic end of Route 66!
