🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Sindhu Devarashetty on being named to Young Professionals Initiative of Northwest Louisiana and Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce 2026 40 Under Forty class!

We are incredibly proud to see Dr. Devarashetty recognized among our region’s outstanding young professionals for her leadership, achievement and commitment to our community.

Dr. Devarashetty completed her LSU Health Shreveport Hematology/Oncology Fellowship right here at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Feist-Weiller Cancer Center and now serves our patients as a medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer at our campuses in Shreveport and Ochsner LSU Health Monroe. She is also Director of FWCC’s High-Risk Cancer Clinic, where she helps individuals at increased risk for cancer through personalized risk assessment, prevention strategies, early detection and ongoing monitoring.

We are fortunate that Dr. Devarashetty chose to continue her career at Feist-Weiller and thrilled to see her work and leadership recognized in our community.

THIS is why bringing advanced cancer care closer to home matters. 💙

After battling B-cell lymphoma, Martha Durden-Scroggins received CAR T-cell therapy at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Feist-Weiller Cancer Center. Today, she is in complete remission and getting back to the life she loves.

Under the leadership of Dr. Shashank Cingam, FWCC is the only center in North Louisiana offering CAR T-cell therapy, giving patients access to this highly specialized treatment without traveling hundreds of miles from home. When the McDade Hospitality House opens this spring, we'll be able to help even more patients in the 29 parishes we serve in north and central Louisiana.

We are so grateful to Martha and her family for sharing their story with KSLA News 12. This is an exciting advancement in cancer care for our region.

This Friday, June 19, we're proud to celebrate World Sickle Cell Awareness Day with the opening reception for our Fourth Annual Artistic Expressions Exhibition at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center.

The exhibit features artwork created by Adult Sickle Cell program patients and supporters , each piece reflecting a unique journey of strength, hope, and resilience.

Join us for an afternoon of art, music, refreshments, and community as we honor the voices and experiences behind the artwork while raising awareness about sickle cell disease.

🎂 Happy 100th Birthday, Ms. Annie!

This week, the halls of Feist-Weiller Cancer Center were filled with cake, laughter, and a whole lot of love as we celebrated a very special milestone: our patient Annie's 100th birthday! 🎉

Annie has been a part of our FWCC family for nine years, navigating treatment for multiple myeloma with grace, grit, and a spirit that lights up every room she enters.

Today is National Cancer Survivorship Day, and Annie is exactly who we think of when we celebrate survivors. Survivorship isn't just about the years — it's about how you live them. Annie has that part figured out. 💜

We are so grateful to walk alongside patients like Annie. Here's to 100 more reasons to celebrate! 🥳
