As a Type 1 diabetic, Addison Beauvais is no stranger to difficult wounds. But when a septic wound in his foot began affecting his everyday life, he found care at our Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center that went above and beyond. Addison learned about his septic wound during a checkup. It was when he missed his follow-up appointment that Nurse Practitioner Shawna Longoria became concerned.
After she was unable to reach him, Shawna called Addison's stepmother, who found him in the middle of the night with dangerously low blood sugar, cold and unresponsive. She called 911, and Addison was transported to our hospital, where he underwent insulin therapy and spent a week recovering. Today, Addison says treatment at our center has given him a lot of his life back and has helped speed his healing tremendously.
With his wound nearly healed, Addison is reaching goals he once thought were out of reach, including walking around the block again, getting closer to swimming and keeping up with his son. Addison and his family later thanked Shawna in a special video for saving his life and said the compassion, advanced technology and personalized care they received made all the difference.

A calcium score test is a noninvasive 10-minute CAT scan that requires no needles or patient prep. This scan allows doctors to view the arteries of your heart from outside the body to measure the amount of calcium buildup in the walls of the coronary arteries. Comparable to mammography, it is considered safe and involves very little radiation. Adults with intermediate risk for coronary artery disease should consider coronary calcium screening, as early detection may be able to reduce their risk of a heart attack.

For Dr. Benny Seto, hand surgery is more than a specialty. It is an opportunity to help patients regain function in one of the most important parts of the body. As a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand surgeon, he cares for everything from the elbow to the fingertips, treating both injuries and non-injury conditions.
One of the most common diagnoses Dr. Seto sees is carpal tunnel syndrome, which he describes as a compressive neuropathy caused by a tight tunnel placing pressure on a nerve. While surgery is often associated with hand care, Dr. Seto views it as a last resort and always begins with conservative treatment options when possible.
He finds helping patients in small communities find relief, restore function, and return to their daily activities as one of the most rewarding parts of his profession.

When cancer survivor Dottie Armanb began experiencing swelling and pain in her arm, she did not realize physical therapy could be an important part of her recovery journey. After connecting with Physical Therapist Tara Alaichamy at through a friend she met in a support group, she found relief at our Outpatient Therapy from her very first visit. Through massages, education and personalized exercises, Dottie saw swelling in her hand improve immediately and resolve after just a few sessions. Tara also equipped Dottie with equipment and other resources, teaching her exercises she could do at home so that she could continue finding relief between sessions. Today, Dottie is feeling great and is grateful for the compassionate care she received. She encourages anyone seeking answers or unfamiliar with physical therapy to talk with their doctor and explore options.

Radiation oncology utilizes X-rays to treat cancer and help prevent it from returning. According to Radiation Oncologist Dr. David Caletri, post-operative breast cancer is among the most common conditions treated with radiation when it comes to prevention, while lung and prostate cancers are among those most treated curatively.
Radiation therapy is especially effective for patients with early-stage breast cancer post-surgery, when it is used to help prevent cancer from returning to the affected breast. Dr. Caletri and his team take pride in seeing patients quickly, helping them develop a positive mindset about treatment, and getting them started as soon as possible.
For long-distance patients, treatment is tailored to the patient's logistics, accommodating available radiation schemes to suit their needs.

After undergoing cancer treatments and two knee replacements, Marty Godwin was looking for a way to become stronger and more active in her daily life. That's when her oncologist, Dr. Scott Boniol, referred her to our outpatient therapy program, where she began exercises that helped improve her physical and cognitive function.
She now has an easier time navigating stairs despite past falls, and strengthening exercises have made daily tasks like picking up laundry easier. Best of all, she's seen her overall confidence improve. Today, Marty is grateful for our therapy team, whom she calls "wonderful," and looks forward to mastering the therapy ball.
For anyone on the fence about therapy, Marty says to give it a try, as our team is here to meet you where you are, start with an assessment, and help you build on your progress one step at a time.
