When surgery is necessary, advanced options matter. At the Spine Institute of Louisiana, minimally invasive techniques are available for a variety of spine procedures and are designed to minimize disruption to surrounding tissue.

Depending on the procedure and patient, these approaches may offer benefits such as smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays, less postoperative discomfort, and a faster return to daily activities.

Our experienced spine specialists work with each patient to determine the treatment approach that best fits their individual needs.

Advancing spine care means sharing knowledge, not just within our own walls, but with surgeons across the country.

Dr. Rishi Wadhwa, along with his partners and Dr. Stephen White, recently welcomed Dr. Jose Lopez Vera from Atlanta to the Spine Institute of Louisiana for an immersive training program in ALIF (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion) exposure.

Opportunities like these allow physicians to exchange techniques, experience, and knowledge while continuing to advance the field of spine surgery.

At the Spine Institute of Louisiana, education and collaboration remain an important part of our commitment to advancing specialized spine care.

Quick posture check! 👀 Are your shoulders relaxed? Is your screen at a comfortable height? Are your feet supported?

Small adjustments throughout your day can make a big difference for your spine. Keep your shoulders relaxed, your screen at eye level, your elbows at a 90-degree angle, and your feet flat on the floor to promote better spinal alignment and reduce unnecessary strain.

If neck or back pain is becoming part of your daily routine, the Spine Institute of Louisiana is here to help.📞 Contact us today to schedule an evaluation.

Sciatica is more than just back pain—it’s nerve pain that travels from the lower back through the buttock and down the leg, sometimes reaching the foot. It occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes irritated or compressed, often due to a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, or other spine conditions.

Common symptoms include:
• Pain that radiates down one leg
• Numbness or tingling
• Muscle weakness
• Burning or shooting pain that worsens with sitting or certain movements

The good news? Many cases of sciatica can be treated successfully with conservative care, and when needed, advanced treatment options are available. If you’re experiencing persistent leg pain or symptoms that interfere with your daily life, don’t wait to seek an evaluation. Early diagnosis can help you find relief and prevent symptoms from worsening.
