Kimberly A. Tyler

In loving memory of Kimberly Anne TylerKimberly "Kim" Tyler, a devoted mother, cherished nana, dedicated nurse, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026 at the age of 68.Born on October 13th in Jackson, Michigan. She moved to Haughton, Louisiana in 1977. Kim lived a life defined by compassion, service, and unwavering love for her family.For 40 years, she served her community as a registered nurse. She started her career at Doctors Hospital, but she found her home at Bossier Medical. She worked at LSU, VA medical, and as a travel nurse, before retiring from Caddo Correctional as an RN. She brought comfort, healing, and unmatched empathy to countless patients and families. Her colleagues knew her as a pillar of strength, a mentor, and a gentle soul, who always put others before herself.While her career was a testament to her giving nature, her greatest joy was her family. As a mother, she was an anchor providing endless encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love. As a Nana, she TRULY shone. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, spoiling them with affection, building lasting tradition, and creating memories they will cherish forever.Beyond her family and career Kim was a true and loyal friend. She possessed a rare ability to listen and offer sound encouraging advice, laugh heartily, and offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.She is survived by her children Mandy Bernos and Mary Garner, her adored grandchildren Chris Kinsey, BJ Browning, Brittany Browning, Victoria Sims, Landon Otwell, Corbin Garner, Brayden Garner, her cherished great grand children Bailey, Georgia, Brantleigh, Bradley, Saylor, Braxton, and Sutton, her siblings Ron, Jeff, Kevin, and Steven Phillips, Brother in life Chris Viera and wife Rhonda Viera and a lifetime of friends and former colleagues who will miss her dearly.She is preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Doralee Phillips, sister Cindy Hargrove, and her beloved daughter Heather Tyler Garner.Visitation will be held on September 3, 2026 at 1-2:30 at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Ave. Shreveport, La. 71101.A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 3:30 at Haughton Cemetery, South Elm/ La Hwy 157.

It was our honor and privilege to accompany Mr. Shafer to the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, where he was laid to rest at his final resting place.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Mr. Shafer and his family and to honor his life and service to our country. 🇺🇸

William Randolph Smith

William Randolph "Randy" Smith, aged 75, passed away on August 21, 2026, in his hometown of Shreveport, LA. Born on November 1, 1950, in Shreveport, Randy was a beloved figure in his community, known for his friendly nature and readiness to help others.

Randy graduated from Fairpark High School and furthered his education at LAtech, where he earned his associates degree. He dedicated many years as a master electrician and later as a plant manager at Lucas Wastewater Plant.

Randy was deeply involved in his faith community, serving as the president of the congregation at St. Paul and an active elder at Faith Lutheran Church. His commitment to his faith was evident in his daily life and community involvement.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Smith; children, Lisa Benson ( LJ Benson) and Kai Smith(Dr. Jessica Esparza); grandchildren, Emma, Harper, and Gracie; brother, Jeff Smith and his beloved dog, Heidi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce Ferguson and Cliff William Smith, and grandparent, Esma Ferguson

A visitation will be held August 26, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the next day on August 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Forest Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, honoring Randy's commitment to his faith and community. Randy's warm spirit and generosity will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

James David Shafer

James David Shafer was born November 02, 1928, at Shreveport, La. His parents were William Therman Shafer and Lena Arnold Shafer.

James served in the Military Service as a Clerical Clerk and USAFI

Registrar for the Army Education Center, Europe, at Landstuhl, Germany from 1953-1955. James worked for the MR&T and A&LM Railway for a number of years as a clerk in the Accounting Dept., retiring with the Warren C West Firm as an accountant. James was a Concert Pianist for the YMCA Boy's Division in Shreveport, La. under the N.M. Shelton administration.1944. James has concretized for many military occasions for groups in the European Theatre and many Churches In the local. Worked with Doris Bowan at the Salvation Army as a Volunteer in clerical records and Music for over a decade.

James is an armature Photographer and Computer person. He has shot numerous pictures of downtown Shreveport for over 40 years on the Now and Then Theme. He is a lover of Voice, Broadway, Operetta, Opera and Concert Piano Music.

He is proceeded in death by his daughter Judith Crawford.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Debbie Phillips, Susan Shafer, Patti Lund (Billy) and Julie Valentine (Stephen), 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
