One of our faculty members, Dr. Shrestha, recently delivered an engaging lecture titled "Soft Tissue Tumors – No Hard Feelings" to the OMFS and AEGD residents at LSU Shreveport.

CDE - An Update of Clinical Oral Pathology for the Practicing Clinician (In Person + Virtual)

TAMU College of Dentistry - AEB 605
Course Summary:
The course will present an update and review of the more common pathologic conditions affecting the mouth. We will cover the most common forms of infectious stomatitis with a focus on herpes infections and candidosis. Noninfectious forms of stomatitis will also be covered and include aphthous ulcers, geographic tongue, lichen planus, pemphigus, pemphigoid, and oral allergies. Common oral swellings or tumors will also be reviewed as well as evolving trends in oral cancer/precancer, including an update on the continuing trend of HPV driven cancer. The course will end with an interactive discussion of differential diagnosis and the clinical features of the range of pathologic conditions affecting the mouth.
