You can learn a lot from the internet. 👀

But there’s a difference between being *inspired* by an exercise and knowing whether that exercise is appropriate for YOUR body.

A fitness influencer can show you what to do.

A physical therapist is trained to assess WHY you’re struggling, what your body is doing, and how to appropriately progress you from where you are to where you want to be.

We look at things like:

→ breathing + pressure management
→ core + pelvic floor coordination
→ strength + mobility
→ movement patterns
→ pain, leaking, heaviness or pressure
→ your pregnancy + birth history
→ your current stage of recovery
→ your individual goals

Because the same exercise can be incredibly helpful for one woman and completely inappropriate for another.

And this is *especially* important postpartum.

〰️Your friend’s recovery is not your recovery. (Read that again!)
〰️The workout that helped your favorite influencer is not necessarily the workout your body needs.
〰️A six-week clearance does not mean every woman is ready for the exact same things at six weeks.

You don’t need to stop following fitness influencers.

Just learn to recognize the difference between general education and *individualized* care. 👏🏽

📌Save this for the next time you’re tempted to copy a workout simply because it worked for someone else.

➡️ And if you’re postpartum and want help understanding what YOUR body needs next, comment POSTPREG and I’ll send you my free postpartum guide!

The first 90 days postpartum are not about getting your old body back.

They’re about helping your body heal, reconnect, and gradually rebuild its capacity.

📌Here’s the framework I want every new mom to have saved:

DAYS 0–30 → RESTORE + RECOVER
Think healing, nourishment, rest, gentle movement, breathwork, and reconnecting with your core + pelvic floor.

DAYS 31–60 → RECONNECT + REBUILD
Begin progressively rebuilding strength, coordination, walking tolerance, and your ability to handle everyday demands.

DAYS 61–90 → STRENGTHEN + PROGRESS
Start challenging your body more intentionally with progressive strength training, increased cardiovascular activity, and preparation for the activities you want to return to.

And a reminder: these are NOT rigid deadlines.

〰️Your delivery, birth injuries, C-section recovery, breastfeeding journey, sleep, nutrition, previous fitness level, symptoms, and overall health *all* influence your timeline.
〰️You don’t need to be “back to normal” at 6 weeks.
〰️You don’t need to “get back” your pre-pregnancy body.

You *do* need a progressive plan that meets your body where it is and helps you build toward where you want to go.

🤎 If you’re currently pregnant or newly postpartum, I created a free resource to help you navigate this season with more confidence and intention.

BRB, taking the next month off from releasing new podcast episodes and showing up more lightly on here as we move houses and soak up the last sweet weeks of summertime with our littles. 🥹

I don’t know about you, but it feels like summer slips by faster every year. I’m sure it will only keep speeding up. But wow… this has been one of our best summers yet.

Holding tight to these little years while fully embracing who they are becoming. Being a mom is such a gift. And having a practice where I get to support other mothers in feeling like the healthiest, strongest version of themselves? The absolute BEST.

Anywho… a little summer recap with plenty of memories intentionally kept off the internet to protect this special season for our family. I’m learning to find that balance of sharing while also holding parts of their childhood close. It’s such an interesting balance to navigate in today’s world. 🤎

Now tell me… what do you want to learn when we relaunch the podcast and education series in September?! Send your ideas my way!

My goal with this page is to support, inspire, and equip you with practical tools for proactive care, prenatal, postpartum, and lifelong pelvic + ortho health.

I can’t wait for all that’s to come—and to bring you along as we settle into our new digs. 🏡🤎

Unpopular opinion…

After four babies, I’d spend far less money decorating a nursery and far more money preparing myself.

No judgment if creating a nursery brings you joy—I LOVE a beautiful space, too. 🤍

But if your budget is limited, I’d encourage you to prioritize things that will support your pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding journey, and postpartum recovery.

For me, that looks like:
• Pelvic floor physical therapy
• Lactation support
• Nourishing, nutrient-dense food
• Learning how to care for my own body before baby arrives (so you’re less overwhelmed once learning to care for baby, too! you already know how to move your body optimally ahead of baby’s arrival.)

Because the greatest gift you can give your baby isn’t a perfectly styled room.

It’s a healthy, supported mom. 🥹

🤎 Comment HWPREG if you’re pregnant and want more holistic tips for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I’ll send you the resources I wish I had as a first time mama (and beyond, for that matter!). 🕊️

Your pelvic floor doesn’t work in isolation. It follows your breath. 🌬️

One of the very first things we assess during an evaluation isn’t how strong someone’s pelvic floor is…

It’s how they breathe.

Because every inhale should allow your diaphragm to descend, your ribs to expand, and your pelvic floor to gently lengthen. Every exhale creates a natural recoil that supports your core from the inside out.

When you’re stuck breathing into your chest instead of your diaphragm, your body often compensates by gripping through the neck, shoulders, and yes… your pelvic floor.

Over time, that can contribute to:
• Pelvic pain
• Urinary leakage
• Constipation
• Pain with intimacy
• Low back or hip pain
• Chronic neck tension and headaches

A stronger pelvic floor isn’t always the answer.

Many women don’t need more strengthening. They need better coordination.

That’s why we always start with your breath. 💫

TRULY THE DREAM TEAM ✨

Yesterday was the first time our entire team has been together in the office!

The reason? Two of us welcomed sweet babies over the last six months. 👶🏼👶🏻

There was something so special about finally being in the same room—working through complex patient cases, brainstorming new ideas, sharing clinical skills and dreaming about how we can continue providing the very best care for the patients who trust us with their health.

Our mission has always been bigger than treating symptoms.

We help women uncover the root cause of pain, tension, movement dysfunction, and pelvic floor concerns. We believe in creating individualized plans that not only help you feel better today, but prepare your body for the healthiest pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and long-term future possible.

One of my greatest blessings as a business owner has been finding women who care as deeply as I do.

Ashley Giere & Lauren Klosterman — thank you for your hearts, your wisdom, your dedication, and the way you serve every patient with excellence and compassion. I’m so grateful to build this mission alongside you.

Here’s to continuing to serve our community—both locally and far beyond—with the kind of care every person deserves. 🤎
