Mel was the catalyst for the CANTER program over 33 years ago… so how fitting for our official first lesson in this new arena to be hers. Not ready to do regular horse lessons in there yet, but we’re busy trying to get there!

This team is amazing BUT this is why we still need to raise funding for electricity and a lift!

We had a great workday last Sunday with a crew from Thunder Mountain Church who included us in their annual Project Serve. As a strategic partner, we were blessed with a crew along with 2 other partners and 30 plus homes in the Golden Acres neighborhood to help spruce things up a bit. And just in time for classes to resume!

So a big thanks to TMC as well as to RLWorkman for providing us with the dumpster to collect and haul off our green waste!!

Those of us here at CANTER, where we specialize in freedom and independence, want to wish you a very Happy Independence Day! As you celebrate 250 years worth of freedom for our country, we hope those celebrations will be safe and enjoyable for all!

When a special person gets to go on a very special field trip to see a special dream come true… it’s definitely worth posting!
We had the privilege of getting to show the progress on the new indoor arena to Susan Fawcett, one of our biggest champions for this project for many, many years. Susan and her husband, Russ, were longtime instructors at CANTER. This new arena is actually being built on the site of our former outdoor arena named in honor of Russ. After so many years longing to see this project come to fruition, we are so glad that her health allowed her to make the journey to come see the progress. The folks at Haven were great in helping us make this special field trip a reality. Special thanks go out to Carolyn and Dean for their help as well.
