📢 A small mobile massage update for 2027

Starting January 1, 2027, mobile massage clients will need to provide their own massage table and clean linens for appointments.

I know purchasing equipment may feel like one more thing to figure out, so I’m happy to help! I can send private links to reasonably priced tables and linen sets from Amazon for anyone who needs them.

This change will allow me to continue offering mobile massage while making the logistics of traveling with all of my equipment a little more manageable.

P.S. I'm almost fully booked for the remainder of 2026! Thank you for continuing to support Grounded Bodywork. I appreciate you more than you know.

Your body remembers how you treat it.

Not because your body is keeping score. Not because every ache means you’ve done something wrong. Your body is constantly adapting to the things you ask of it. The hours you spend sitting at a desk. The way you sleep. The repetitive movements you make at work. The stress you carry in your shoulders. The workouts you push through. The recovery you skip because there is always something else that needs to get done.

Over time, those patterns can become part of how your body feels and moves. That doesn't mean your body is broken. It means your body has been responding to the environment you've given it.

This is one of the reasons I believe massage is about more than chasing the spot that hurts. Sometimes we need to ask, “What has this body been experiencing?” Where is it working harder than it needs to? What movements are repeated every day? Where are you holding tension? Are you giving your body enough opportunities to recover?

Your body is communicating with you all the time. Sometimes, we need to slow down long enough to listen.

I've been reminded lately that taking care of everyone else can make it really easy to forget about your own body.

Stress doesn't always stay in our heads. Sometimes it settles into our shoulders. Our jaw. Our back. Our sleep. Our breathing. We carry things physically without even realizing how much we're holding.

So here's your reminder from me today:

Unclench your jaw.
Drop your shoulders.
Take a deep breath.
Drink some water.
Give yourself a few quiet minutes.

You don't have to wait until you're completely exhausted to take care of yourself.

Your body deserves some attention too.

And if your shoulders have been living somewhere around your ears lately... I know a place that can help with that.

Some gifts are extra special because of the thought and love stitched into them. ❤️

A sweet client gifted me this beautiful handmade quilt yesterday, and I am completely in love with it. What a thoughtful reminder of how lucky I am to have such wonderful people in my life and in my business.

Since moving to my new studio space, I've been spending a lot of my time caring for two of my favorite people, my grandparents. And I've learned that there is a kind of emotional exhaustion that comes from watching people you love experience cognitive changes that is incredibly difficult to put into words.

You can know, logically, that aging is part of life. You can know that none of us get to stay here forever. But knowing something and watching it happen to people you love are two very different things.

There are moments when I feel completely helpless. Moments when I wish I could somehow take away the confusion, the fear, the frustration, or whatever they're experiencing and carry it for them. And then there is the part where you still have to keep going. You still have responsibilities. You still have work. You still have a house to take care of. You still have people who need you. So you hold it together. Until sometimes it feels like the weight of the entire world is sitting on your shoulders.

I've struggled to find the right words for that feeling because it isn't one emotion. It's sadness, fear, grief, love, frustration, exhaustion, gratitude, and helplessness all tangled together. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I'm incredibly grateful for the people in my life who give me somewhere else to put my focus.

My clients have unknowingly given me an outlet. When I'm working, I'm able to focus on the person in front of me. I get to help someone feel better. I get to talk, laugh, connect, and be present for something other than the inevitable reality I'm facing with my grandparents.

My inner circle has done something similar in a different way. You've given me patience when I don't have much left to give. You've listened. You've checked in. You've let me be quiet when I needed to be quiet.

I don't think any of you realize how much that has meant to me. So if I've been quieter lately, I'm still here. I'm simply living through a season of life that has asked a lot of me.

I'm trying to be present for my grandparents while I still have them. I'm trying to care for myself along the way.

All set up for tonights Couples Massage Workshop! So excited to share my love of massage with couples who want to be better at helping their partners.

Planning another workshop end or September or early August.

This is a hands-on workshop designed to help couples connect through the healing power of touch. Whether you're newly dating, married for decades, or anywhere in between, you'll learn simple and effective massage techniques that can help relieve tension, reduce stress, and strengthen your connection.

This is not a professional massage training. Instead, you'll learn practical skills that can be used at home to help your partner feel more comfortable and cared for.

WHAT TO EXPECT
• Learn basic massage techniques for the neck, shoulders, back, arms, and hands
• Discover how to use proper body mechanics to avoid tiring yourself out
• Learn how to communicate about pressure and comfort
• Practice techniques with your partner throughout the workshop
• Ask questions and receive guidance from a licensed massage therapist
• Leave with skills you can continue using at home

WHAT TO BRING
• One blanket large enough for two people to sit or lie on comfortably
• One pillow
• Water bottle (optional)

WHAT TO WEAR
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. Tank tops, t-shirts, athletic wear, yoga pants, shorts, and similar comfortable clothing are all appropriate.

Participants will remain clothed throughout the workshop. Most techniques will be practiced through clothing, allowing everyone to learn in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This workshop is perfect for couples, spouses, partners, and close loved ones who want to learn simple ways to help one another feel better while spending quality time together.

No prior massage experience is necessary.

Supporting school wellness programs has become one of the most meaningful parts of what I do.

As massage therapists, we spend a lot of time helping people recover after stress has already taken its toll. Being invited into schools gives me the chance to support the people who are pouring so much of themselves into others every single day.

Teachers, staff, and administrators carry an incredible amount of responsibility. They show up for their students through long days, difficult situations, and countless challenges that often go unseen. They deserve the same care and support they give so freely.

I'm genuinely grateful to every school that has welcomed me in to be part of their wellness initiatives. Thank you for recognizing that caring for your staff isn't a luxury. It's an investment in the people who make a difference in the lives of children every day.

It has been an honor to play a small part in that mission, and I look forward to supporting many more schools in the future. ❤️
