🌙 Sometimes, the most important reminder comes from the smallest voices. 💙

“If you treat your sleep apnea…”

You might expect children to talk about snoring or sleep. Instead, they remind us about something much bigger:

🚲 Having the energy to play.
💙 Being more present with the people you love.
💍 Being there for life's milestones.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Making more memories together.

This Sleep Awareness Month, their message is a beautiful reminder that caring for your sleep isn't only about nighttime.

It's about the life—and the people—you wake up to.

If you've been diagnosed with sleep apnea or have concerns about your sleep, talk with your healthcare provider about treatment options that may be appropriate for you.

Because better sleep can be one meaningful part of taking better care of yourself—for you and the people who love you. 🌙

What if something is happening in your sleep… and you have no memory of it?

One of the tricky things about sleep apnea is that breathing interruptions happen while you're asleep. You may not remember the brief awakenings—but sometimes, the person sleeping beside you notices the snoring, gasping, or breathing pauses first.

That’s why Sleep Awareness Month is about more than getting enough hours of sleep. It’s about becoming more aware of what may be happening during those hours. 💙

If someone has ever mentioned concerns about your breathing while you sleep, don't simply brush it off. That observation may be worth a conversation with your healthcare provider.

🌙 Awareness can be the beginning of better sleep.

🌙 BETTER SLEEP TAKES A COMMUNITY. 💙

Behind every patient journey are conversations, referrals, shared knowledge, and healthcare professionals who care deeply about helping people feel better.

At Advanced Sleep Treatment, we’re grateful to be part of a community of ENT physicians, sleep physicians, primary care providers, nurse practitioners, neurologists, and other healthcare professionals who bring their own expertise to patient care.

These relationships remind us that healthcare is stronger when we communicate, collaborate, and keep the patient at the heart of what we do.

This Sleep Awareness Month, we celebrate not only better sleep—but the people and partnerships that help make better care possible.

Different expertise. One shared purpose:
🌙 Sleep Better.
💨 Breathe Better.
💙 Live Better.

🌙 SLEEP AWARENESS MONTH | WHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY 💙

Sometimes, the most powerful way to understand the importance of better sleep is to hear from someone who has lived the journey.

Before treating her sleep apnea, Anne Shoemaker remembers becoming tired during even the most relaxing moments—and sometimes unexpectedly nodding off.

After deciding to pursue Oral Appliance Therapy and being referred to Dr. Ekaterina Tomenko, Anne began a new chapter in her sleep journey.

Today, she describes her oral appliance as a “game changer.” ✨

She shares that since treating her sleep apnea, she has noticed improvements in her memory and, most importantly, a meaningful improvement in her overall quality of life.

And that is exactly why stories like Anne’s matter during Sleep Awareness Month. Sleep isn't simply about making it through the night. The way we sleep can influence how we experience our days, our energy, and our lives. 💙

🎥 Press play and hear Anne’s story in her own words.

Individual experiences and treatment outcomes vary. Oral Appliance Therapy may not be appropriate for everyone and requires professional evaluation.

🌙✨ SOME WORDS STAY WITH YOU.

Every once in a while, we receive a message from a patient that reminds us why we do what we do.

Recently, Advanced Sleep Treatment received this incredibly thoughtful letter from one of our VA patients—and to say we were touched would be an understatement. 💙

After decades of experiences with medical and dental care, this patient took the time to recognize not only Dr. Ekaterina Tomenko, but also the professionalism, hospitality, and care provided by our team.

Dr. Tomenko’s response captured exactly how we feel:

💬 “Not sure how much we deserve this high praise, but I’m so grateful for the blessings of wonderful people who come to our office and appreciate our work in the spirit of service.”

And that word—service—means so much to us.

Behind every appointment is an opportunity to listen.
Behind every treatment is an opportunity to care.
And behind every patient who walks through our doors is a person who has trusted us with a part of their health journey.

That trust is something we never want to take for granted. 💙

To the patient who wrote this beautiful letter: thank you. Your kindness made our day, encouraged our team, and reminded us that sometimes the care we give comes right back to us in the most unexpected ways. 🌙✨

And to all of our patients—thank you for allowing us to serve you.

🌙 ASK AST | Frequently Asked Questions

💰 “Do you offer financing options?”

Cost is an important part of making healthcare decisions, and we understand that patients want to know what they may be responsible for before moving forward with treatment.

At Advanced Sleep Treatment, our goal is to help minimize out-of-pocket costs whenever possible and help you better understand your individual insurance benefits.

One important thing to know: because sleep apnea is a medical condition, Oral Appliance Therapy for sleep apnea is billed through medical insurance—not dental insurance.

🏥 We accept most medical insurance plans, including Medicare.
📋 Coverage varies depending on your individual plan.
💙 During your complimentary consultation, our team will review your anticipated financial responsibility based on your insurance benefits and applicable costs.

You don’t have to navigate the financial side of treatment alone. We’re here to help you understand your options.

🧠🌙 While you sleep, your brain isn’t simply “turned off.” It’s doing important work.

Sleep supports processes involved in brain housekeeping and metabolic waste clearance, including activity associated with the glymphatic system. Researchers are also continuing to study the relationship between sleep, sleep disruption, and proteins such as amyloid-beta and tau.

But here’s an important question:

Are you getting truly restorative sleep—or are you simply spending enough hours in bed?

For people with obstructive sleep apnea, repeated breathing interruptions can disrupt sleep throughout the night—sometimes without the person realizing it.

Pay attention to signs such as:

💤 Loud, frequent snoring
😮‍💨 Gasping or choking during sleep
⏸️ Witnessed pauses in breathing
🥱 Excessive daytime sleepiness
🤕 Morning headaches

Your sleep matters to more than your energy. It matters to your overall health.

If you or someone you love is experiencing possible signs of sleep apnea, speak with a qualified healthcare provider about appropriate evaluation and treatment options.

💙 Already diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and interested in learning about treatment options? Our team at Advanced Sleep Treatment can help you explore whether Oral Appliance Therapy may be appropriate for you.

You went to bed… but did your body actually get the rest it needed? 🌙

Obstructive sleep apnea can affect much more than how many hours you spend in bed.

Repeated breathing interruptions during sleep can fragment your rest and contribute to drops in blood oxygen. Sleep apnea is also associated with important cardiovascular health concerns—and its effects may follow you into the next day through fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and morning headaches.

The important message? Don’t normalize consistently poor sleep or ignore possible signs of sleep apnea.

If you’re concerned about your sleep, talk with a qualified healthcare provider about appropriate evaluation.

Already diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and exploring your treatment options? Advanced Sleep Treatment can help you learn whether Oral Appliance Therapy may be appropriate for you.
