URGENT APPOINTMENT UPDATE: September 3, 2026

Due to a technical error, some patients received a text message this morning with incorrect appointment information. If you recently rescheduled a visit with our practice, that text may have referenced your original appointment date rather than your new one.

Please disregard any message referencing the old date. Your appointment has not changed from the date you rescheduled it to. If your rescheduled appointment is today, please arrive as originally planned.

We are working to resolve this error as quickly as possible and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. If you have any questions about your appointment date or time, please call our office directly.

Confused about Pap test and HPV testing recommendations?

If you are at average risk, current recommendations include:
✅ Ages 20-29: Pap test – every 3 years
✅ Ages 30-65:
➡️Preferred: clinician-collected primary hrHPV every 5 years
➡️If not available, Pap and hrHPV co-testing every 5 years OR FDA-approved testing kits for patient-collected HPV testing every 3 years
✅ Ages 65+: Not clinically indicated with adequate prior screening (3 consecutive negative Pap test results or 2 consecutive negative co-testing results within 10 years before stopping screening)

As always, you should speak with your provider about your personal health history and risks to determine the best testing schedule for you.

When used perfectly, hormonal birth control methods are up to 99% effective, but most people do not use birth control perfectly every month.

That means:
✅Taking pills at the same time each day
✅Starting a new pill pack as instructed
✅Remembering to place a new ring monthly or patch weekly
✅Not removing a ring for more than two hours or exposing rings to high temperatures
✅Not applying a patch on top of lotions or makeup

The HPV vaccine is a safe and effective way to ensure long-lasting protection against cancers caused by HPV. Catch-up vaccines may be recommended for those who have never been vaccinated against HPV, based on individual risk and health history.

It is understandable to think that menopausal hot flashes (and night sweats) are worse in warmer months.

🌞 You can be both more sensitive to heat (due to decreasing estrogen levels) and higher-humidity conditions in the summer can make it harder for your body to cool down.
😓Also, the number of hot flashes you have in a given time period is likely going to be higher, but the hot flashes you have aren't actually more intense.
