🚨 The moment every injector needs a plan for…A positive flashback… now what?
Safety isn’t just something I teach—it’s the foundation of every patient I treat and every injector I mentor.
This reel shows part of my injection process:
✔️ Skin preparation
✔️ Facial assessment and anatomical landmark mapping
✔️ Strategic injection technique
✔️ Aspiration as an additional safety measure
Aspiration is not a guarantee against vascular occlusion and should never replace proper anatomy knowledge, technique, or clinical judgment. However, it is an additional step that takes only seconds.
In this case, I observed a positive flashback. I stopped, withdrew the needle, expressed the blood and product, replaced it with a new sterile needle, reassessed, and proceeded appropriately.
Vascular occlusions are a rare but recognized risk of injectable treatments. While no technique eliminates risk completely, advanced anatomy knowledge, proper technique, patient selection, and knowing how to recognize and manage complications are essential to safe practice.
This is why I continue investing in advanced education, cadaver labs, and hands-on training—not only to create beautiful results, but to provide the safest care possible.
