"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter."

Feeling the feels. Off of caffeine/tea.

Omggggggggggg

It won’t be forever, and I’m enjoying the torture process.

The truth is that sometimes other people hold things for us when we can’t hold them ourselves. Grateful for friends and clients who enjoy their tea, until I can again.

Grateful to those who hold so much more than that for each other- hope, peace, love, understanding. We do this life thing together. You’re not alone.

I have been preparing for this cleanse since last September with diet and lifestyle changes.

Why am I cleansing?
Because I have had migraines for many years, and I’m doing a lot of healing work emotionally and mentally for my migraines and want to add the physical cleanse as well.

What foods have I cut out as part of my pre-cleanse?
Dairy
Meat
Alcohol
Sugar
Raw/uncooked foods
Vinegars
Fermented foods
Onions/garlic (only having a little bit)
Any processed foods
Starting the caffeine process today

The biggest mental challenge is that I’m not going to be working out at the gym or Pilates studio for the next couple weeks. I can do gentle stretching and gentle walking, but the cleanse requires a settling and quietness to help the body release what it’s been holding. My kettle bells will be waiting for me on the other side, as will my teaser (Pilates talk).

Gou Qi Zi or Goji Berries.

Add 1/2-1 tablespoon to your porridge or tea each day as an offering to your liver. Try that for 2 weeks and see how you feel. Feeling good?

You don’t need to eat goji berries for the rest of your life, but sometimes we do need them for a season- a season of the year or a season of our lives.

Best practice is to find a Chinese Medical Herbalist to help you out, but in the meantime- add some goji berries to your life!

The bright brilliance of the dandelion is a helpful companion for the skin- redness, stagnation in the lymph, and the ache of winter- all these symptoms respond to this beautiful oil.

So grateful each spring to be able to make this oil for use in the clinic.

The earthy aroma is worth the benefits!

Chinese herbalism and acupuncture work alongside primary care physicians, naturopaths, nurse practitioners, midwives, OB/GYN’s, and physician assistants to help people make informed decisions about their healthcare. It’s about collaboration!

I’m really grateful for hormone therapy. If that’s an option you want to explore as part of your healthcare, let’s get you connected to the right providers.
