Since 2024 has come to a close, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the data of my birth clients.
Something I say when I talk to potential clients during our consult is, theres no such thing as a right or wrong way to birth, theres only your way. Iโm here to advocate for you and your desires, to protect your birth space and do everything in my power to help you get the birth youโve been dreaming ofโจ
Theres nothing wrong with birthing your baby at home with no help, just like theres nothing wrong with utilizing modern medicine to assit in your delivery.
So when I look back at these statistics, Iโm not rooting for one way over the other. Iโm just appreciating the data and taking a look back at my clients experiences.
So letโs dive deeper into some of these slides!
Number of Births: Most of my clients tend to be first time moms. After that itโs moms who have had kids already and have either had a traumatic birth experience that theyre looking to avoid repeating or just a more empowered experience the second time around.
Water Use for Pain Management: 83% of my clients have used either a birthing tub or the shower to alieviate and aid in the pain of labor. A majority of my clients tell me that water for pain is a GAME CHANGER!
Pitocin Use: While pitocin is a synthetic version of oxytocin, it can be productive to induce labor when medically necessary. There are ways to make a pitocin induction smoother and more empowering. 33% of my clients have used pitocin to help induce their labor and had positive experiences.
Epidural for Pain Managment: According to one study, women that have continuous support through labor are 12% less likely to have an epidural, and as you can see my clients do tend to lean into a birth with no epidural and I just love that I was able to get those women exactly what they wanted.
2024 has been such an incredible year, and I am so beyond honored that my clients chose me to support their families and empower them to have agency over their birth and help them make true informed decisions ๐๐ป๐ค
