To the moms of teens: bringing your daughter in for her first OB/GYN visit doesn't have to be scary.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends the first visit between ages 13 and 15.
The best part? It’s usually just a chat.

We use this time to establish trust, answer her questions about her changing body, and make sure she knows what a healthy cycle looks like. Call us to schedule a "meet and greet" for your teen!

During National Breastfeeding Month, we want to talk about the actual reality of feeding a baby. More than a biological function, it is a profound physical, mental, and logistical undertaking.

If you are struggling with a latch or if the mental toll of feeding is costing you your peace, please do not suffer in silence. Our team is here to evaluate your physical recovery and support whatever feeding journey keeps both you and your baby healthy.

We spend months reading books about how to care for a newborn, but we rarely get the full picture of what it takes to care for a postpartum mother.

From the physical healing and the hormonal drops, postpartum is a profound transition.

Let's build the village in the comments today. What is one truth about postpartum recovery you wish another woman had shared with you? 👇

Birth control is not a "set it and forget it for 20 years" kind of prescription.

What worked for you in high school or college might not be the best fit for your body (or your busy schedule) right now. From non-hormonal IUDs to low-dose pills, we have so many options to fit your lifestyle, your family planning goals, and your hormone health.

If you want to explore your options, mention it at your next wellness exam or call to schedule a consultation! https://bit.ly/4fvgxb3

Between feedings, diaper changes, and sleepless nights, nutrition can easily fall to the bottom of the priority list.

Your body is still recovering after birth, and if you're breastfeeding, it has additional nutritional needs as well.

Here are some postpartum nutrition facts every new mom should know.

Medicine is a science, but caring for women is incredibly personal.

Dr. Kathleen LaFavor’s philosophy is simple: she treats every single patient as if they were her mom, sister, or friend.

A native of nearby Jackson, Nebraska, Dr. LaFavor knew she was meant to be an OB/GYN after assisting with her very first delivery. For her, the best part of the job goes far beyond the delivery room. It is the joy of running into her patients around town and watching the tiny humans she helped bring into the world grow up.

When she isn’t at the clinic or at the hospital, you can find Dr. LaFavor and her husband, Jeff, cheering on their three very active boys (Kaleb, Aiden, and Noah) in whatever sport is in season, taking photos, or going for walks with their dog.

If Dr. LaFavor delivered your baby or has been part of your healthcare story, leave a comment below!

With so much information, and misinformation, surrounding childbirth, Dr. LaFavour wants women to know one thing when they come to us for care.
