Jeanette Opal Amble, 89, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026, at St Paul Lutheran Church, 612 Jennings Street, Sioux City, Iowa. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Jeanette was born on September 10, 1936, in Perry Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Victor and Rena (Harper) Lundgren.

Jeanette graduated from Western Iowa Community Tech College as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1971. She worked for Dr. Wm. L. Jackson, MD, for 18 and a half years and later worked for five years with Dr. Stanley Bloustine, MD, as an LPN and office nurse. Jeanette was also a Breast Cancer Survivor.

Jeanette was a previous member of Concordia Lutheran Church and a current member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was active in the Altar Guild and Women’s Society and served as Secretary of the Voters Meeting and on the Church Parish Council. She enjoyed her daily Bible study, doing crafts, gardening, cooking, and baking for family and friends. Jeanette was known for her love of talking with family and friends and for writing letters and cards for any occasion.

Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Randy) Girard, Denise (Phil) Townsley, and Teresa Vallejo; grandchildren, Chad Nicolls, Charles Nicolls, Nicole Townsley, Eric (Beth) Townsley, Sara (Jeff Watterson) Girard, Arnie (Diana) Girard, Ralphie (Dawn) Vallejo, Rena (Dustin) Vallejo, Katrina Vallejo, Deidra Fuentes, Izzy Fuentes, Victor (Juliana) Fuentes, Carmen Brewer; 14 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Lundgren; her sisters, Alice Pedersen and Carol Rayevich; several nieces and nephews; and many others who adopted her as family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Terrance Amble; her daughter, Laura Fuentes; her great-granddaughter, Freedom Cousineau; her brothers, George, Gene, Lyle, Carl, Lester, and Victor; and her sisters, Arlayne Benson, Lois Jean Lundgren, Marian K. Lundgren, and Lillian Lundgren.

A special thank you to Lois LaFluer for her friendship and for taking Mom to church, and to Dr. Erica Luke for her care, and also the nursing staff on 4A at St. Lukes Unity Point North.

Jerald “Jerry” Alan Dominicak, 67, of Sioux City, IA, passed away August 25, 2026. Per his wishes, there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Jerry was born on March 6, 1959 in Mitchell, SD to Harry and Leila (Butts) Dominicak. He grew up in Mitchell and developed a passion for riding show horses, and eventually became a trainer. For 30 years, Jerry dedicated himself to the Siouxland Humane Society as the Shelter Director. Three decades of caring deeply about this organization, the animals who came through the doors, the community he served and the people who worked alongside him. Jerry helped shape the Siouxland Humane Society into what it is today. He led them through challenges and changes, celebrated the victories, built lasting relationships throughout the community and remained a steady presence through it all. But Jerry’s impact goes far beyond the walls of the shelter. He was a huge supporter of the Sioux City Musketeers, Bandits and Explorers. He was also a big advocate for Pride week and the LGBTQ Community. He enjoyed spending time with friends, going to car races, and four wheeling in the Black Hills.

Louella Mae (Fredrickson) Collins, 91, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2026.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Holy Cross Parish – St. Michael Catholic Church. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4-7:00 p.m. Prayer service at 6:00pm at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Danbury, Iowa.

Louella was born on March 8, 1935, at her family home near Danbury, Iowa, to George and Stella (Bumsted) Fredrickson. She attended Fairview Country School through the eighth grade before continuing her education at Oto High School, graduating in May 1953. She later attended National Business Training School and worked as a bookkeeper at Hansen Glass & Paint for five years.

On June 25, 1960, Louella married Keith W. Collins at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury, Iowa. Together, they made their home in Sioux City before moving in January 1968 to a new home southeast of Hinton, Iowa, where they raised their three sons and built a life together. Keith passed away on September 30, 1985.

In May 1994, Louella moved back to Sioux City, where she spent many years working as a housekeeper. She was also well known for something much sweeter, her love of baking. For many years, Louella operated a small baking business, selling her homemade baked goods at the farmers market and filling orders for countless customers, many of whom became dear friends. Her breads, bars, dinner rolls, and especially her caramel rolls, were enjoyed by many over the years.

Louella loved staying busy and being around people. She belonged to several card clubs over the years and could often be found playing cards several days a week, especially Pitch and 500. She also enjoyed taking day trips, with mystery bus trips being a favorite, and was a devoted fan of the Sioux City Explorers. Family gatherings and holidays were especially important to her and were rarely complete without her potato salad, fried bread, cookies, or pies.

Those left to cherish Louella’s memory include her three sons and their wives, Bradley (Joan) Collins of Kingsley, Iowa, Brian (Kris) Collins of Merrill, Iowa, and Bruce (Jody) Collins of Sioux City, Iowa; her grandchildren, David (Megan) Collins, Dustin (Alysha) Collins, Ryan Collins, Ashley (Ryan) Bates, Mitchell Collins, and Emmalee Collins; and her great-grandchildren, Hadley, Danika, Everett, Amelia, and Amira Collins, and Hallie and Haisley Bates. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth (Lila) Fredrickson, and her nephew, Deron Fredrickson.

Louella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Keith; her parents, George and Stella Fredrickson; and her sister-in-law, Beverly Fredrickson.

Louella leaves behind a lifetime of memories made around kitchen tables, at ball games, during card games and family gatherings, and through the countless meals and baked goods she lovingly made for others. Her greatest legacy, however, is the family she loved so deeply and the many lives made a little warmer, sweeter, and fuller simply because she was part of them.

Christopher “Chris” A. Mitchell, 50, of Sioux City, IA, passed away at home, surrounded by his family on August 22, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29 at Tucker Hill Vineyards, 1001 Tucker Hill Dr. in Hinton, IA 51024. A celebration of life will follow the service. Flowers can be delivered to Tucker Hill Vineyard starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Chris was born on May 29, 1976 in Cherokee, Iowa, to Darlo Mitchell and Jean McCormick. He spent most of his childhood in Correctionville, Iowa but eventually landed in Sioux City. He graduated from West High School in May 1994. It was also in Sioux City that he met the love of his life, Brandie Carlson. They were united in marriage on April 29, 1995, in Sioux City. It was there that they built a life together and welcomed their son, Joshua, on September 25, 1998. Chris considered Josh, his greatest and most important accomplishment - raising a good man. He was very proud to have helped him buy his first truck, watch him graduate, and see him become a dad. The bond between the two of them was unmatched. A few years ago, Chris's family grew when Josh started dating Josie. Chris welcomed and loved Josie, and her son Gavin, very much. Then came Little Man, Christopher Luke- his grandson and namesake. He was the absolute joy of Chris's life and one of the main reasons he was able to fight so long. He was extremely thankful to have had 18 months making memories together with him. Family was everything to Chris.

From a very young age, Chris was a hard worker. He made an impact on the connections with people at several jobs over the years. Many of which he was still close with - a testament to what kind of person Chris was. In 2023, Chris along with partners Cristian Lugo and Ethan Sundleaf, started their own fence business - Premier Fence & Gate, here in Sioux City. They have been able to build a business from the ground up and found success in a few short years. Chris was extremely proud of this.

When Chris wasn't working or spending time with family, you could usually find him helping someone. He was an all-around awesome handyman and could figure out anything. He liked being productive, doing things right, and helping people he loved with anything they might need. Chris enjoyed grilling a good meal, a cold Miller Light, a game of pool, traveling when possible, attending car shows, and cranking up some good heavy metal tunes. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family - watching his grandsons grow, learn, and play.

Chris had the BEST sense of humor and the quickest wit. He kept people on their toes and kept us all laughing until the end. What a gift he was to many!

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Brandie; son, Josh (fiancé Josie); grandsons: Gavin and Christopher; mother, Jean; sister Lacey (wife Sam); and many other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his dad Darlo, grandparents Neal and Mary, Bill and Sandy, and sister-in-law, Tamara.

Julia López Muñoz, de 70 años, de Sioux City, Iowa, falleció el 21 de marzo de 2026. El entierro se llevará a cabo en Zapotlanejo, Jalisco, México.

Julia nació el 12 de mayo de 195 en Nochistlán, Zacatecas, México, hija de Octaviano López y Herminia López. En años recientes residía en Sioux City, Iowa.

Julia fue una mujer alegre, amorosa y profundamente dedicada a su familia. Estuvo casada con Rogelio Alvizo, con quien formó una hermosa familia. Fue madre de cuatro hijos, a quienes amó incondicionalmente, y una abuela entregada que siempre veló por el bienestar de sus hijos y nietos.

Holly Jo Dunn, 36, of Sioux City, IA, entered into rest on March 9, 2026. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Holly was born March 22, 1989 in Sioux City, IA to Joe Dunn and Jerri Lynn (Henry) Kull. Holly as a young girl was fearless. She loved following her brother around and doing what he did. She also was a great big sister to her little sisters. Holly attended St. Michael's Catholic grade school in Leeds, Iowa where she grew up as one the fun loving kids in the neighborhood. She also attended and graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City in May 2007, which was one of her proudest accomplishments.

Her proudest moment was on December 15, 2010 when she became the mother of a beautiful baby girl whom she named Aubrey. As a mother, guiding her daughter through life, she also gave birth to a son on July 16, 2015 whom she named Jaxton. As said by her often to them- “I will love you to the moon and back."

Holly loved having the world as her oyster. Opening it up and starting new adventures often. Her heart shined when helping others with the obstacles in their lives. Be it car issues, physical ailments, or matters of the soul. Holly was always there. She was a struggling spirit as the years passed. However she never lost the desire to love and care about all the people that came into her path, as those that loved to be around her as well.

She is survived by her children: Aubrey and Jaxton; her father, Joe (Edie) Dunn of Sioux City, IA; mother, Jerri Lynn (Robert) Kull of North Sioux City, SD; brother, Tyler Dunn of Sioux City, IA; sisters: Tallie Dunn of Sioux City, IA and Trinity Kull of North Sioux City, SD; niece, Cora Dunn of Sioux City, IA; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Leonard and Judy Dunn of Sioux City, IA; also Jerry White of South Sioux City, NE and many close friends and family.

She will be deeply missed by all.

Keith L. Pry, 63 of Correctionville, Iowa passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at a Hospital in Ida Grove. Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 pm until the sunset Friday, June 26, 2026 at the Little Sioux Park in Correctionville, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, Iowa.

Keith was born August 6, 1962 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Lee and Betty (Bruner) Pry. He was raised in Correctionville, Iowa and attended Eastwood Community School. Keith adventured to Arizona for 4 years. He moved back to Iowa to work for Dixon Construction in Correctionville for the next 20 years. Keith also worked at Buy Rite Pallets in Bronson, Iowa which expanded to Correctionville. He married Heidi Brauninger in 1989, they later divorced. Then in 2004 Keith and Taunia Luse were married.

Keith was a loving family man and supported his children in all of their endeavors. He enjoyed going camping, playing cards and games, sitting by a good bonfire, watching the sunset, and was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan, Super Bowl Champions.

Keith will be remembered by his wife, Taunia, two sons, Ely (Courtney) Woten, Keith Rabbass, both of Correctionville, Iowa four daughters, Kelsi (Dylan) Dalton of Quimby, Iowa, Kendra (Deshawn) Kelley of Correctionville, Klaudia Pry of Cherokee, Iowa, and a daughter from Missouri, four brothers, Dan (Becky) Pry of Austin, TX, Bill (Jonya) Pry of Oklahoma City, OK, Roger (Melinda) Pry, and Kelly (Jenice) Pry both of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, four sisters, Joanne (Gary) Keller of Phoenix, Arizona, Susan (Jim) Verzani of Statesville, N.C., Deanna (Mark) Struck of Council Bluffs, IA, Roxanne Augeri of Topeka, KS, and three grandchildren, Bayleigh and Barrett Woten, and Dedrick Kelley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Betty Pry, brothers, Allen Pry, Kenneth Pry, and a sister, Louella Pry.

Keith was a devoted son, father, husband, and grandpa, or as the grandkids would say “Pops” and will be missed by many.

William O. “Will” Maaske passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4pm Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Marina Inn (Marriott Riverfront), South Sioux City, Nebraska. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Will was born on October 4, 1952 in Sioux City, Iowa where he lived most of his life. He was the son of Harold and Valeria (Picksler) Maaske. After graduating High School he married the love of his entire life, Terri Wheelen in 1972 and together they raised 2 children, Chad and Melissa.

He owned and operated “Maaske’s Carpet Cleaning” for 27 years until joining his wife in building successful call centers in Nevada and South Dakota. Will was very involved in all family events and never missed any events his kids and grandkids were involved in, including their practices.

Will was a huge car racing fan and owned a dirt track race cars for several years. He gave his family many laughs to remember him by. Just to remember a couple of crazy accidents would include throwing his rod into the water when casting and hitting his own mailbox with his truck plus many more. He will be remembered by so many for being caring, a committed loving friend, husband, Dad and Papa.

He leaves behind amazing memories for his wife of 54 years, Terri, son, Chad Maaske (Amber) of SD, daughter, Melissa Price (Dwayne) of Las Vegas ,NV, 4 grandkids, Christian, Easton, Kinley, and Slone Maaske, mother-in-law, Lila, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

Jeremy Jay Gunnels, 40, of North Sioux City, SD, passed away March 1, 2026. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Riverside Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at a later date at Sharon Cemetery in Drexel, MO.

Jeremy was born December 15, 1985 in Sioux City, IA, the son of Jay Gunnels and Mary (Cook, Gunnels) Halverson. Jeremy resided in Sioux City after high school before moving to Dakota Dunes where he resided until his passing. Jeremy attended Sunday School and Bible School at the McCook Lake United Methodist Church. He was baptized June 8, 2003 at the Riverside Methodist Church.

Jeremy attended McCook Elementary and Dakota Valley School where he graduated in 2004. He played Jr. High and High School football, basketball, and track. Also playing Siouxland Y flag football and basketball. We also told our kids once you start something they had to finish whether they were winning or losing. DV had some rough years in football loosing and most of the games being done by halftime. Jeremy would tell us stories and we would just laugh and enjoy the stories even though it was not easy being beat up physically every week loosing and then turn around and do it all over again. Jeremy loved to tell stories and would to reenact some, which was even more entertaining.

Jeremy loved animals and would nurture whatever would come to his house, kitties, dogs (sometimes that being a friend wanted to get rid of there dog and Jeremy would take it in), possums, raccoons, and squirrels. Emmitt was his last black lab and was so missed when he passed away by Jeremy and the whole family felt that loss along with him.

Jeremy loved being with family. Christmas, Easter, 4th of July and Birthdays were all celebrated with food, games and fellowship. Jeremy also went on a few cruises with his family and another wonderful memory for his family. He enjoyed playing with his step-niece and step-nephew, Harlowe and Ford and going on adventures with his nephew CJ.

Jeremy’s most prized possession when he turned 40 was buying a 2017 Corvette. He was so proud of it. He had plans of going to Omaha’s Racetrack with a few of his work buddies with their Corvette’s and race them, he was going to make T-shirts with some saying about Shifting Gears, because at Gelita they work different shifts.

Jeremy’s places of work had been while in school was one year of detasseling in Jr. High, doesn’t everyone do at least one year? He has also worked at Two Rivers Golf Course, Audino Construction, Phillips Kiln, Sabre and his present job was Gelita.

Survivors include, dad, Jay Gunnels; mom, Mary Halverson; step-dad, Harlan Halverson; sister, Joni Smith and husband Brian Smith; and nephew Carson Smith (CJ); step-brothers: Ryan Halverson and wife Brenda, Erik Halverson and wife Christine, and Brad Halverson and wife Carissa. He also was survived by many Aunts and Uncles and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Ruth Gunnels, Raymond and Juanita Cook. Uncles, Jim Bob Gunnels, Howard Cook, Bob Cook, Ron Cook. Aunts, Lois Cook and Marilyn Cook.
