Since last week I posted about newborn p**p, I thought this week it is the 1st p**p postpartum's turn!
Honestly, that first one can be a bit intimidating!
But preparing ahead of time can help!
Pelvic floor therapy before birth will teach you how to relax those muscles, and that is what you need for giving birth as well as p**ping. Pushing is tighting those muscles, making it harder for baby or p**p to come out, so we don't want to do that. We want to relax and breath through it.
Having a squatty potty or some type of stool to put your feet on can help get you in a more ideal position.
Make sure to be eating fiber! Fiber is harder on the tummy to breakdown, especially since your digestive system has slowed down so your body can recover, but that doesn't mean not to eat it! Have cooked fruits and vegetables. Also, consult with your doctor about over-the-counter medication and supplements.
Staying hydrated and gentle movement can also help to not get constipated as well as make that 1st p**p more comfortable.
