Did July even happen? πŸ˜…πŸ˜†

Here are some moments from SDW land to prove that it did indeed, because while it went quick, it was highly eventful on so many levels πŸ’ƒπŸ€“β˜•οΈ

After a decade of personal training experience, this is the most effective 3-step process to teach someone how to squat πŸ‘ WHEN it is a FOREIGN AF MOVEMENT to their brain and body πŸ‘

NOT NOTED IN VIDEO:

πŸ‘‰ When you’re first learning a new movement pattern, we want repetition because…

New movement = new skill being learned = new brain pathways being made

Repetition builds the skill and your confidence

(12-15 reps)

Why this works πŸ‘‡

1. It’s builds confidence in the movement, especially at the bottom position

2. Learning the hip hinge by sitting back onto a chair naturally forces you to push your hips back and bend your knees correctly, (rather than driving your knees too far forward)

3. You’re learning to lower yourself slowly, which builds the strength, balance, and confidence needed for more difficult and heavier loaded squats in the future

4. Standing back up from a dead stop, seated position trains your muscles (quads, hamstrings, glutes) to generate force without relying on momentum

5. Your improving core stability by intentionally sitting upright and hinging forward which forces your core to engage for balance and posture (in addition, I work with my clients to properly engage their core)

Video is inspired by 2 current clients who have completed this process after about 8 weeks (timeline is different for everyone), and are now onto progressing in step 3 πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯ΉπŸ’ƒ
