September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month which is a lot of heavy words for one small, human idea: it’s okay not to be okay.
You don’t have to have the language for it yet, and you don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support. This month we’re going to talk about the hard stuff out loud, gently, because the talking is where it starts.
If today is a hard one, the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is there any time, day or night. And we’re here for the days after that, too. We’ve got you. 💛

It’s National Grief Awareness Day, and if there’s one thing grief refuses to do, it’s keep a schedule — it shows up at the grocery store, in a song on the radio, on an ordinary Tuesday months after everyone else has moved on. There’s no timeline for this, no “should be over it by now,” and no single right way to do it.

If you’re grieving (a person, a pregnancy, a marriage, or a version of your life you thought you’d have) you’re not behind, you’re human, and you don’t have to carry it alone.

When you're ready, we're here

The calendar’s about to get loud, because every fall September fills up fast. The activities, the drop-offs, and all the appointments you keep meaning to make for yourself and never quite do because as a parent your own to-dos never seem to get to-done.

Consider this your reminder to make the one appointment that’s just for you, before the rush swallows the month. Booking only takes a few minutes — you make the decision once, and we take it from there.

They say, “play is the language of children,” but what are children saying in play therapy. Play therapists are highly trained to make meaning out of children’s play by narrating it back to the child, noticing patterns, and empowering children to master hard things themselves.

On this weeks episode of The Knowledgeable Parent Podcast:
Bedtimes have quietly collapsed and screens have basically won, and with the first day approaching it’s all about to come to a head. Today’s episode is about easing back into a routine without staging a household mutiny, and why your own regulation ends up being the secret ingredient that makes any of it stick.

If the reset feels heavier than it should, that’s a sign rather than a failure, and it’s exactly what we’re here for. Listen now and check out the link in the show notes for more.

Adam finally made the call — now he’s terrified of what comes next.

In this episode we talk about:
- The intake process from the clinician’s side (what we’re actually doing and thinking).
- Why the first session can feel surface-level — and why that’s by design.
- What therapists are listening for that clients don’t realize.
- How to tell if a therapist is a good fit.
Takeaway: awkward is normal — here’s what to actually pay attention to.

Listen now and take the next step by taking the two-minute quiz in the show notes.

Some days you’re the calm one.
Some days you lock yourself in the pantry for ninety seconds of quiet.
Both are being a good mom.
You’re a human who has needs.
You don’t have to earn a rest.
Take one. We’re in this together.
