We've been pretty casual about what is probably the most significant change to our business, outside of our big move, obviously.
I'm not sure why we haven't talked about it more. I like to say it's because we've been busy. Too much other stuff to post about. Too much else to get done, and this one thing, this one huge, significant thing, can wait.
But I think the real reason is nerves. I've just been nervous about it. It's not a small thing. At all. In fact, it's huge. But I think it's time we really share about it.
WE STARTED A COFFEE SHOP.
There. I said it. We did it. We launched a full-service coffee and herbal tea bar. What started as a small concept in our minds turned into something we never even dreamed of. But here we are, and we couldn't be more grateful for it.
Just about a year ago, my husband and I got into coffee for personal enjoyment. If you're not into coffee now, may I recommend you never start. It will lead you to starting your own coffee shop, ha!
For real tho, what started as a cheap espresso machine turned into something we never expected. A dream. A concept. A full-service coffee bar with a philosophy that felt like a natural extension of everything we already believe.
Our philosophy has always been that wellness is a personal journey, not a one-size-fits-all destination. It is why our products are never prescriptive. We meet people where they are. And where some people are, is in desperate need of a really good latte.
Self-care looks different for everyone. Sometimes it is a tincture. Sometimes it is a magnesium cream before bed. And sometimes it is a beautifully crafted cup of something warm that makes you exhale for the first time all day.
That is what Moss and Mug is. An extension of the same intention, just in a cup.
Just like the products in our store, we took the same approach of handcrafting all of our syrups from scratch. It's the only way to ensure that what goes in our drinks has not just good quality ingredients, but ONLY good quality ingredients. No fillers, no garbage, just clean flavor.
We like things to be unique. Special to us. That meant our bean needed to be unlike anything you'd get anywhere else. So we worked with a new roastery out of Rock Valley, Iowa. Despite them having a new setup, many of you will recognize their name: Rooted Plant + Coffee Shop.
We were floored when they reached out to us about their new coffee roasting setup. We worked closely with them to create the most unique and flavorful bean we've ever tasted.
I know I'm biased, but it's seriously that good. And the most exciting thing is how well it pairs with herbal and floral syrups.
You can get a strawberry or blueberry latte anywhere. But where can you get an elderflower, lemon verbena, and citrus syrup that tastes as if you stepped into a garden of sweet light? (Hence the syrup name "Garden Light") 😊
And so, here it is. We are ecstatic to formally and officially announce our new coffee bar, tucked inside our beautiful new store:
Moss & Mug Herbal Tea and Coffee Bar.
We're starting out with a small but delicious menu of housemade syrups, espresso, pour-overs, hot and iced teas, and coming soon is lemonade, cold brew, and some really fun tea lattes. All the things you'd expect at a full-service coffee bar, only better. ;-)
The coffee bar is open during normal business hours for now, but more details to come, including an announcement of a grand opening for the coffee bar, specifically. Some fun things are in store.
Stop in, grab a hot or iced latte, and walk around. Check out our products, see the store, chat with us about what's new. Can't wait to see you.
More details to come, and links to the coffee shop's page and website are in the comments. Give it a follow over there for all things coffee and tea; we'd love to have you. Stay tuned for more!
