✨Come join this evening's 75-minute Yin Yoga class✨
Thursday March 12th @ Skagway Rec Center – 5:30–6:45 PM
All levels welcome / no prior experience required
Drawing from Taoist principles of yin-yang balance, Yin Yoga offers a soothing counterpoint to the active, dynamic "yang" energy of daily life.
Through supported, passive floor-based postures, we guide our muscles to relax completely, allowing gravity and extended holds—typically 3–5 minutes or longer—to gently target the deeper connective tissues: fascia, ligaments, and joints. This creates mild, sustained stress that faciltates tissue release, fascial hydration, greater joint mobility, and a profound, settling calm
What to expect in class:
✨A quiet, supportive space with dim lighting and ample time for introspection
✨An opening of centering / breath awareness to ease into the practice
✨6–8 thoughtfully selected poses, held passively with invitations for steady breathing and mindful observation of sensations
✨Emphasis on finding your personal edge with kindness—entering where you feel meaningful sensation, then remaining still without forcing
✨Gentle transitions and a restorative final relaxation (Savasana) for full integration
Come as you are and tune into your body's wisdom 🧘♀️☯️✨
