Shark Week 2026 may be coming to a close, but there's no need to ever stop learning about or celebrating these creatures. Shows like Octonauts, Wild Kratts, Nat Geo Kids, and many others can bring you and your kids into the watery world of sharks any time you wish. Meet a few beautiful sharks - and then go visit them at the Shedd Aquarium! This zebra shark, blacktip reef shark, and whitespotted bamboo shark are just a few of the residents of their massive Wild Reef exhibit, and there are many other, smaller sharks in other habitats throughout the aquarium. (They've also recently welcomed four new beluga whales rescued from an abandoned marine park in Canada - not sharks, but the team at Shedd are doing great work!)

🦈 With Shark Week swimming in on the Discovery Channel today, there are so many games and activities that can bring the shark spirit into your home! Here’s one to get you started: Ocean Slime. 🌊 What kid doesn’t love sharks and slime?? You can use any slime recipe you want, just add some blue food coloring, shells or seaside mix-ins - and of course, the sharks! (Make sure an adult supervises any young kids during the process.)

Stay out of the water - the sharks are nearly here! Discovery's much anticipated Shark Week begins tomorrow, Sunday, July 26. Their schedule is packed with fascinating programming for all ages, and we have a week's worth of fun activities and games for when you need some screen-free time, but your kids still want sharks! So get out your shark hoodies, stuffies, hats, ties, and bobbleheads, prep your shark-cuterie boards (stay tuned), and get ready to swim with everyone's favorite aquatic predators!
