✨ This patient suffered for many years from severe hallux valgus with dislocated hammertoes and callus on the bottom of their feet which made every step painful. This condition is a result of Rheumatoid Arthritis. They underwent a great toe joint fusion with Treace System 2 biplanar plating as well as resection of metatarsal heads 2-5, temporary k-wires for stabilization of the MTPs along with hammertoe repair.
Final images are one year post op and show the dramatic correction with complete absence of plantar callus and reduction of the deformity. Most importantly this patient is now walking….Pain Free!🦶
With this type of procedure, patients can be weight-bearing in a walking boot starting the same day of surgery. Many can be back in a comfortable shoe within 6-8 weeks of the procedure!
Every case is different and post-op protocols/outcomes may vary based on individual circumstances.
