On Monday, we had a wonderful time celebrating Hat Day with our residents and team members! It was great seeing everyone show off their favorite hats and share lots of smiles and laughter throughout the day.
As a special thank-you to our incredible CNAs and care staff, our Executive Director, James Franks, and Assistant Executive Director, Heather Smith, hosted a delicious sandwich bar for the team.
We are so grateful for the compassion, dedication, and hard work our caregivers provide every day. Thank you for all you do to make our community feel like home. ❤️

James is a loving father and an avid BBQ lover who brings both heart and experience to The Landings of Smithfield. With over a decade in assisted living, he has a strong background that truly shows in the way he leads and supports our community.

At The Landings of Smithfield, we are so grateful for our incredible Dietary Manager, DuWayne McCoy.
A proud retired Air Force Veteran, DuWayne joined our team in September 2025 after completing the Culinary Arts Program at Wake Tech, continuing his life of service in a new and meaningful way. What makes him truly special is his heart—he doesn’t just prepare meals, he builds relationships. His favorite part of the job is getting to know our residents and their families, making every dining experience feel personal and full of care. Julie joined us in late March, and we are already so grateful to have her as part of our family. With years of experience in hospice care, she brings a deep level of compassion, knowledge, and heart to everything she does. Her dedication to providing comfort, dignity, and exceptional care truly sets her apart.
