This mama knew what she wanted, and she was able to have a low-intervention hospital birth that kept her at the center of every decision.
There was something so powerful about watching her move through labor with confidence, instinct, and so much control. No unnecessary interventions, no rushing the process, just a mama, her baby, and a birth team supporting her exactly where she was.
A beautiful reminder that a hospital birth can still be deeply personal, empowering, and low intervention.

Supporting a homebirth doesn’t always mean the birth has to happen at home.
After a long labor at home, the decision was made to transfer to the hospital for pain relief, and rest. And what a beautiful reminder that birth can unfold in many different ways and still be a deeply positive experience.
The goal was always a safe, supported, empowered birth. Proud to have supported this family through every twist and turn, honoring their choices and meeting them where they were.

Sometimes birth asks us to rewrite the plan.
This family prepared for a vaginal twin birth, but when circumstances changed, so did the plan. Their strength wasn’t found in sticking to Plan A, it was found in making the best decision for themselves and their babies.

These babies entered the world surrounded by love, courage, and an incredible team supporting every step of the journey.

We love supportive providers. ☺️ This is a “new to KU” midwife who I’ve gotten to work with prior at the birth center here in Kansas City. She was just as amazing when supporting this family at the hospital. Hospitals don’t automatically make your birth bad! These parents birthed on the floor, didn’t have an IV placed, didn’t do postpartum pitocin, or didn’t have their baby vigorously rubbed after birth.

Hospitals get a bad rep on social media and the key is finding a supportive provider and provider group(since you can never guarantee your provider will be the one on call if you go into labor spontaneously).
