Marie Fleming Johnson, age 74, of Woodbury, passed away at her residence on August 11, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. Born on October 22, 1951, in Smithville, TN, to her parents, the late Walter and Margaret Hawkins Fleming, she was a Christian who loved the Lord. Marie had a passion for arts and crafts, including painting, diamond painting, fishing, puzzles, games, and sewing, but above all else, she cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed meeting and mentoring to others. Marie previously worked at TG&Y as well as Food Center.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Johnson, and her children: Kim (Scott) Foutch, Sonya (Tim) Knox, Chad (Shelly) Jennings, Michael (Natalie) Jennings, June Bug (Bonnie) Grandstaff, Dale Grandstaff, Lisa (Barry) Brawner, and Tina (Mike) Atkins. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Tayler (Ray) Underwood, Cody (Kayla) Poss, Logan (Lauren) Poss, Regan (Paige) Foutch, Addison (Matt) Patten, Tori Knox (Ricky), Lauren Knox, Hunter Jennings, Emma (Garrett) Hayes, Hailey (Justin) Carr, and Allie (Elliott) Lee, as well as her great-grandchildren: Baylor Poss, Sorin Underwood, Landry Poss, and Knox Patten. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Fleming and Carol Brummett, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Grandstaff, and her brothers, Larry Fleming and Michael Fleming.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 4-8pm and on Friday from 10am until the time of service at 1pm. Bro. Dwight Knowles, Bro. Garry McBride, and Bro. Tim Knox will officiate with interment to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Marie Fleming Johnson.
