Ibuprofen over Tylenol!

Did you know that ibuprofen can do more than just ease period cramps?

Ibuprofen works by reducing the production of prostaglandins—hormone-like chemicals that contribute to uterine contractions, inflammation, cramping, and heavier menstrual bleeding. By lowering prostaglandin levels, ibuprofen may help:

• Reduce menstrual cramping
• Decrease inflammation
• Lessen menstrual bleeding for some women

Because it targets the underlying cause of many period cramps, ibuprofen is often more effective than acetaminophen (Tylenol®) for menstrual pain relief.

As always, take ibuprofen only as directed and follow the recommended dosing instructions on the label or those provided by your healthcare provider. If your periods are consistently heavy or painful, talk with your healthcare provider about additional treatment options.

Meet Tabby, our talented sonographer and one of the true backbones of our practice!

You’ll find her walking patients up and down our halls all day, offering a friendly face and compassionate care every step of the way. As the first one in the office each morning, Tabby is always ready to jump in wherever she’s needed. Whether she’s capturing exciting first glimpses of a growing baby or helping patients through some of their most challenging moments, she approaches every encounter with skill, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

When she’s away from the office, Tabby enjoys getting lost in a good book while sipping on a cold Alani and spending quality time with her two sweet little boys.

Women’s health Wednesday!

Did you know? Your va**na is a self-cleaning organ!

It does an excellent job of maintaining its own healthy balance.

There is no need for douching, antibacterial soaps, feminine washes, scrubs, or other products marketed to “clean” the va**na. These products can disrupt your natural va**nal pH and healthy bacteria, increasing the risk of irritation, infections, and bacterial vaginosis (BV).

It’s also important to know the difference between the va**na and the v***a. The va**na is the internal canal and is self-cleaning. The v***a is the external ge***al area and can be gently cleansed with warm water and, if desired, a mild, unscented soap.

When it comes to va**nal health, less is often more. Let your body do what it was designed to do!

If you’re experiencing odor, itching, burning, or unusual discharge, schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider rather than reaching for products that promise to “clean” your va**na.
