A root canal procedure is designed to treat infection or inflammation inside the tooth while preserving your natural smile. During treatment, the endodontist carefully removes the damaged or infected pulp from within the tooth. The inside of the tooth is then cleaned, disinfected, and shaped to remove bacteria and prevent further infection. Once the area is thoroughly cleaned, it is filled and sealed to protect it from future issues.

In many cases, a crown is recommended afterward to restore strength and function to the tooth. Modern root canal treatment is focused on comfort and precision, helping relieve pain while saving your natural tooth whenever possible.
