🚨 ERGONOMIC SAFETY INSPECTION 🚨

VIOLATION: PROLONGED VEHICLE SITTING

Three hours in the car without getting up?

Yeah… the Posture Police noticed.

Your body wasn’t designed to stay in one position for hours at a time. On longer drives, try to take a few minutes to get out, walk around, and move your spine.

Your car has a seatbelt. Your spine needs a movement break.

Consider this your warning.

🚨 ERGONOMIC SAFETY INSPECTION 🚨

Today’s violation: The One-Legged Office Chair.

You know the position… one leg tucked underneath you while you work, scroll, or sit for hours.

Comfortable? Maybe.

A great position to live in for hours at a time? Probably not.

Your body likes movement and variety. Change positions, get up, move around, and don’t let your “comfortable” position become your only position.

Consider this your warning.

POSTURE POLICE 🚨

Another successful arrest by the posture police. This time, forward head posture and speeding towards neck pain.

Your citation today:
• Illegal forward head posture
• speeding towards neck, pain, and early degeneration.
• Failure to take movement breaks
• unsafe ergonomic working environment.

Fine: 10 minutes of posture, exercise, followed by stretches and mobility work.

Can You Breathe Without using Your Neck? 👀

Try this quick test.

✅ Place one hand on your upper chest.

Now take a slow, deep breath through your nose.

Ask yourself:

• Did your shoulders rise?
• Did the muscles on the front or sides of your neck tighten?
• Did your chest move a lot more than your lower ribs?

If you answered “yes,” your neck may be working overtime to help you breathe.

Over time, that can contribute to:
• Forward head posture
• Neck and upper trap tension
• Stiffness
• Difficulty maintaining good posture

This is one reason I don’t just evaluate the neck. I also look at how your rib cage, diaphragm, thoracic spine, and breathing mechanics work together.

A chiropractic adjustment can help restore motion to restricted joints. Pairing that with better breathing mechanics may help your body move and function more efficiently.

Have someone record you taking a deep breath—or try the test in front of a mirror. You may be surprised by you notice.

Here’s a quick challenge:

Sit in a chair.

Stand up without using your hands if you can.

Then sit back down the same way.

This simple movement reflects a mix of strength, balance, coordination, and mobility—qualities that become increasingly important as we get older.

Whether you nailed it or needed a little help, there’s always room to improve.

One of the simplest habits you can change today:

Stop bringing your head to your phone.

Bring your phone to your head instead.

It won’t solve every neck problem, but it can reduce unnecessary strain from looking down for long periods.

Small habits repeated every day often have a bigger impact than dramatic changes made once.

Follow for practical wellness, longevity, mobility, and healthy living tips that are easy to use every day.

Question: How many hours do you think you spend looking at your phone each day?
