💧 Water helps. Have them drink up beforehand, unless the test needs fasting.
🗣️ Be honest. "A quick pinch" works better than "it won't hurt."
🧸 Bring comfort: a favorite blanket, a toy or your lap.
📺 Distract with a show or game.

Save this for your next blood draw. 📌

"Do I need to fast?" is the question we hear most. The short answer: it depends on your test.

✔️ Not every test needs fasting. Check your lab order or ask your doctor.
✔️ If you do fast, it's usually 8–12 hours, water only.
✔️ Keep drinking water. Being hydrated helps your draw go smoothly.
✔️ Ask your doctor before skipping any medication.

Tip: fasting? Book an early weekday visit. We start at 8 AM, so breakfast can come right after.
