When it comes to Pre-eclampsia delivery is the best "cure" however there are other treatments that your physician will probably order. **This is only for informational purposes and by no way should be taken in place of your doctor. Always get the advice of a medical professional that is caring for you**

*Blood pressure medication, baby aspirin and/or calcium supplementsto aid in lowering your blood pressure
*Magnesium Sulfate IV infusion to prevent convulsions usually given for 24 hours in the hospital.
*Bethamethasone which is a set of steroid injections given twice to mom within 48 hours in order to help your baby's(if premature)
lungs mature.
*In most cases a C-section will be the delivery method in order to safely deliver your baby in a timely manner.

These are some tips you can take at home:
*Take your blood pressure medications and other medications as prescribed.
*Check your blood pressure regularly and keep a journal to share with your physician.
*Eat a well balanced diet with a decreased salt intake, food enriched in antioxidants, avoid fried foods and food with a high sugar content. Eat plenty of vegetables and protein however try and keep your protein intake on the lower end.
*Keep well hydrated by drinking at least 8 cups of water on a daily basis
*Get regular prenatal care throughout your pregnancy.
* Eat a well balanced diet full of vegetables and food enriched in antioxidants. Limit your salt intake and avoid fried foods and sugary snacks. Try and keep your protein intake to a good medium because Pre-eclampsia can cause protein to spill over in your urine in large amounts.
*Get enough rest and keep your feet elevated as much as possible.
*Exercise if possible but only under the supervision of your doctor.
