1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. This year, approximately 382,640 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer, including 321,910 with invasive breast cancer and 60,730 with non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.

Chances are, you know at least one person who has been personally affected by breast cancer. But there is hope. When caught in its earliest, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate is over 99%. Advances in early detection and treatment methods have significantly increased breast cancer survival rates in recent years, and there are currently over 4 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

Students from Two Rivers High School joined Snoqualmie Valley Health last week for a lab demo, radiology tour, and a nursing education demo on how to start an IV. It was a an afternoon full of hand’s on activity and learning to support these students interest in healthcare!

The HUB is taking shape inside and out! Landscaping, irrigation, parking lot striping and exterior lighting installations are nearing completion. Work is also progressing on the pedestrian bridge and connecting pathways.

Inside, heating and cooling are running on several floors, allowing crews to move ahead with flooring installation. Countertops and reception areas are installed on the lower level, kitchen equipment is in place, and the climbing wall structure is progressing. Operating rooms are receiving flooring and permanent lighting, while crews test and adjust building systems.

The HUB is looking more complete every week! Crews are adding landscaping, irrigation, parking lot lighting and EV charging stations, with parking space striping coming soon, weather permitting. Exterior siding and building signage are also moving forward.

Work is underway on the pedestrian bridge and connecting pathway, helping bring the outdoor spaces together.

Each step brings us closer to welcoming our community to a new space for health, wellness and connection!
