For Dr. Lo, medicine has always been about looking deeper. Asking better questions, understanding why something is happening, and helping people become active participants in their own health rather than simply managing symptoms.

Through her patients, teaching, Dr. Lo Show, and Shine Natural Medicine, she’s dedicated her life to helping people better understand their bodies and their ability to heal.

Her own life has shaped that work just as deeply. Motherhood, fertility, loss, faith, and her own health experiences have continued to change the way she sees medicine and what it truly means to be well.

This is a little more about the woman behind Shine. 💛

Kinda chic to question what we’ve been told about health and medicine.

Somewhere along the way, we’ve accepted that feeling exhausted, bloated, anxious, inflamed, waking up tired, or living with pain in all the places is just part of being an adult.

We don’t think it has to be.

At Shine, we believe healthcare should be about helping you understand your body, not just helping you tolerate your symptoms.

Sometimes that means looking at nutrition before another prescription.

Sometimes it means ordering labs instead of guessing.

Sometimes it means talking about stress, sleep, hormones, blood sugar, gut health, or your menstrual cycle because they’re all connected.

And sometimes it means admitting that healing isn’t about finding one magic supplement. It’s about making hundreds of small decisions that move your body in the right direction.

We know this approach isn’t for everyone.

But if you’ve ever left an appointment feeling unheard, if you’ve been told your labs are “normal” while you still don’t feel like yourself, or if you’re simply curious about a different approach to health...

You might be in the right place.

There are a lot of health accounts on Instagram.

And honestly...we might not be for everyone.

If you’re looking for that one magic supplement...
a one-size-fits-all protocol...
or someone to tell you your labs are “normal” without asking another question...

We might not be the ones for you.

But if you’re looking for healthcare that slows down enough to actually listen...

Healthcare that looks at patterns instead of isolated symptoms...

Healthcare that isn’t afraid to talk about stress, sleep, hormones, digestion, nutrition, relationships, or yes...your p**p...

then welcome. 🤍

At Shine, we believe your body is incredibly intelligent. That healthy is your natural state.

Our job isn’t to silence you or your symptoms as quickly as possible.

It’s to understand why they’re happening in the first place and help support your body back toward health. Real health.

We’re serious about science.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously.

And we believe healing shouldn’t require perfection.

If that sounds like the kind of healthcare you’ve been looking for, we’d love to meet you.

✨ New patients are always welcome.

Stress really isn’t “all in your head.”

The stress response involves constant communication between your brain, nervous system, hormones and immune system. While short periods of stress are a normal part of life, chronic stress without enough recovery can begin to affect both physical and emotional health.

Research helps explain why so many women feel this way. Large studies have found that women experience anxiety and mood disorders more often than men. Researchers have also described the “double burden” many women face, juggling careers, caregiving, parenting and the invisible work of running a household. When those demands continue without enough support or time to recover, stress can begin to show up as exhaustion, burnout and physical symptoms. Long-term family stress has even been associated with poorer health outcomes over time. At the same time, our response to stress is highly individual, shaped by everything from hormones and genetics to past experiences and social support. The takeaway isn’t that women are less resilient, it’s that many are carrying an extraordinary load, and their bodies are responding to it.
That doesn’t mean women are “bad at handling stress.” It means many are carrying a tremendous amount, and the body responds accordingly.

The good news is that supporting your stress response doesn’t have to mean adding another overwhelming wellness routine to your to-do list. Small moments of recovery matter.

That might look like:
• Taking a 10-minute walk
• Reading instead of scrolling before bed
• Calling a friend
• Prioritizing sleep
• Eating omega-3-rich foods
• Asking for help when you need it

These habits won’t eliminate every source of stress, but they can help send your body repeated signals of safety and recovery.

At Shine Natural Medicine, we never want to dismiss symptoms as “just stress.” Instead, we look at how stress may be interacting with hormones, nutrition, sleep and other underlying factors, because sometimes stress is part of the root cause, but it should never be the reason we stop looking for answers.

As naturopathic doctors, we absolutely use advanced lab testing, evidence-informed supplements, and personalized treatment plans when they’re needed.

But we also know that health isn’t built by supplements alone.

It’s built in the small things we do every day.

These aren’t just “nice ideas.” They’re some of the habits that help support a healthy nervous system, balanced hormones, healthy relationships, and long-term well-being.

Healing really isn’t about doing more.

Sometimes it’s about returning to the things our bodies have needed all along.

If you’re looking for a healthcare team that values both modern diagnostics and the foundations of health, we’d love to help.

For over a decade, Dr. Lauren Noel has dedicated her career to helping people understand why they don’t feel well.

Her approach has always been in listening first, looking for patterns, and understanding the whole person.

That means taking the time to review your story, explain your labs, and investigate the underlying factors that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Natural medicine isn’t about finding a quick fix. It’s about creating a personalized plan that supports your body’s ability to heal, for good.

If you’ve ever felt dismissed, rushed, or told everything was “normal” when you knew something wasn’t right, know that there IS another way. You’re not crazy.

💛 We’d love to help.

Lab testing is one of the most valuable tools we have in naturopathic medicine.

Instead of making assumptions, we use comprehensive testing to better understand what’s happening beneath your symptoms and create a treatment plan that’s personalized to you and will address the root cause of them once and for all.

Swipe through to learn about four of the tests we recommend most often!

Feeling exhausted, wired, moody, or like you just don’t feel like yourself after 30?

Before chasing the next supplement or searching for another diagnosis, make sure you’ve built the foundations.

Simple habits like getting enough sleep, eating enough protein, strength training, tracking your cycle, supporting your nervous system, and getting morning sunlight can have a profound effect on your hormones, metabolism, energy, and overall health.

Simple doesn’t mean insignificant.

That said, if you’ve been doing all of these things consistently and you’re still struggling, your body may be asking for a deeper look.

Lifestyle is the foundation, but sometimes there are nutrient deficiencies, hormone imbalances, gut issues, or other underlying factors that deserve attention too. That’s where we come in.

Health isn’t built overnight, but we think you’d be surprised by how even the smallest habits can compound over time to make a huge difference.

If you’ve ever looked back after your period started and thought, “Well... that explains a lot,” you’re definitely not alone.

Hormones influence your mood, energy, sleep, appetite, digestion, and even the way you experience stress.

While some changes throughout your cycle are completely normal, feeling like a completely different person every month doesn’t always have to be.

The goal isn’t to eliminate every symptom. It’s to support your body well enough that your cycle doesn’t feel like something you have to survive every month. And here at Shine we’re here for all of it (even when you sometimes want to burn it all down…..)
