“The best therapists don’t need support.”

It’s a belief many clinicians quietly carry. I don’t believe it’s true.

The therapists I admire most continue seeking consultation throughout their careers. Not because they have fewer skills, but because they’re committed to deepening them.

Clinical excellence isn’t built in isolation.

It’s cultivated through curiosity, reflection, and a willingness to keep learning.

This is just the first assumption. I’ll be sharing more in this series soon.

Some of the most meaningful growth in my career happened after my EMDR training was complete.

Not because I attended another certification.

Because I continued having conversations with thoughtful clinicians.

Those conversations shaped the way I conceptualize cases, think through complexity, and continue developing as a therapist.

That's why I created The EMDR Collective: Coffee, Consultation & Connection.

A place where clinicians can continue learning through thoughtful dialogue, consultation, and community.

If you're looking for a space to strengthen your clinical thinking while connecting with other EMDR clinicians, I'd love to have you join us.

Peace doesn’t always feel peaceful at first.

Sometimes it feels unfamiliar.

Especially if you’ve spent years believing your worth depended on keeping everyone else comfortable.

Healing invites us to choose between alignment over approval, even when it feels uncomfortable.

What does choosing peace look like for you today?

07/24/2026

Healing doesn't always make everyone around us comfortable.

Sometimes it changes relationships.
Sometimes it changes expectations.
Sometimes it changes us.

That doesn't necessarily mean we're doing something wrong.

Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is stop abandoning ourselves in order to keep everyone else happy.

There are some clinical questions that don't belong in a textbook.

They belong in conversation.

☕ The EMDR Collective is a weekly drop-in consultation space where EMDR clinicians come together to explore cases, ask questions, strengthen treatment planning, and learn alongside colleagues who understand the work.

Whether you're newly trained or have years of experience, you'll find a welcoming space to think out loud, gain practical insight, and reconnect with the community that makes this work sustainable.

Because doing this work was never meant to be done alone.

07/08/2026

So many people ask themselves the same question:
"What's wrong with me?"

But what if that's the wrong question?

What if your anxiety...
your people pleasing...
your perfectionism...
weren't signs that you were broken?

What if they were signs that your nervous system learned how to protect you?

Healing doesn't begin with criticizing yourself.

It begins with understanding yourself.

Instead of asking, "What's wrong with me?" try asking, "What was this trying to protect me from?"

07/02/2026

Sometimes trauma isn't one thing.

Sometimes it's years of receiving messages like:
✨ Don't be a burden.
✨ Your needs don't matter.
✨ Keep everyone else happy.
✨ Don't make mistakes.
✨ Don't let anyone see you struggling.

Over time, those messages become adaptations.

You become the reliable one.
The strong one.
The resilient one.

But surviving isn't the same as not being affected.

Anxiety.
Perfectionism.
People pleasing.
Emotional overwhelm.
Difficulty trusting others.
Not feeling safe in your own body.

These aren't signs that something is wrong with you. They may be signs that you've been carrying more than anyone should have to carry.

EMDR therapy isn't about erasing your past. It's about helping your brain and nervous system process experiences so they no longer have to weigh on you in the same way.

Maybe the question isn't,
"What's wrong with me?"

Maybe it's,
"What have I been carrying all this time?"

Save this for the next time you catch yourself believing you're "too much" or "not enough."

Some of the best clinical insights I've ever had didn't come from a training—they came from talking through a case with another EMDR therapist.

We all have those moments:
☕ "Am I missing something?"
☕ "Why does this case feel stuck?"
☕ "What target would you choose?"
☕ "Has anyone else experienced this?"
That's why I created these drop-in EMDR Case Consultation groups.

No pressure. No long-term commitment. Just a welcoming space to think together, ask questions, strengthen your AIP case conceptualization, and connect with other EMDR clinicians who understand the work.
Whether you're newly trained or have years of experience, you're invited to pull up a chair, bring your coffee (and maybe a case!), and join us.

✨ Drop in for just $25 and leave with practical insights, fresh ideas, and meaningful connection.

I'd love to see you there! Register here:

What if the panic attack wasn’t a disorder to eliminate, but a nervous system trying to protect? What if perfectionism developed to prevent criticism? What if emotional numbing once helped someone survive the unbearable? What if people pleasing was an adaptation to maintain connection in an unpredictable environment?Symptoms often make perfect sense when we understand the context in which they were formed. This shift changes everything. We stop asking, “What’s wrong with you?” and start asking, “What happened to you?” and “How did this help you survive?”When clients understand that many of their struggles began as intelligent adaptations, shame decreases, self compassion grows, and healing becomes possible. Our job is not to pathologize survival strategies. Our job is to honor them, understand them, and help clients determine whether those strategies are still serving the life they want to create.Healing is not about becoming someone new. It’s about recognizing that the strategies that once protected you may no longer be necessary.
