If you rely on prescription inserts to keep you moving comfortably, you might be wondering how long they actually last. Foot and Ankle Associates of Cleveland takes pride in designing Custom Orthotics that are built to withstand heavy daily use. Still, we also know that even the highest quality medical devices undergo normal wear and tear over time.

If your inserts are no longer providing the exact structural support you need, here are 3 clear indicators that it’s time to have them evaluated (and potentially replaced): https://tinyurl.com/599vbrd6

Flat feet significantly reduce your body's ability to absorb shock during high-impact activities. Without a natural arch, athletes frequently experience easily tired feet, swollen soles, and radiating leg or back pain that can drastically hold back their physical performance on the field.

But having flat feet does NOT mean you have to hang up your cleats! Athletes can successfully manage symptoms at home with 5 easy steps. Learn more: https://tinyurl.com/y9t3zf24

Does it feel like there is a jagged pebble in your shoe, but nothing is there? 🪨

You take off your shoe, shake it out, put it back on...and the pain in the ball of your foot instantly returns? You aren't going crazy. That "invisible pebble" is actually a severely pinched, inflamed nerve called a Morton's Neuroma. When your arch collapses, your metatarsal bones shift and physically crush the nerve between your toes, causing it to swell into a painful mass. This is progressive nerve damage. It won't heal with rest. We use custom orthotics to restore function and give the nerve room to breathe.
