Seeing the words is only part of the story. 👀
A child can have visual tracking or visual perceptual problems and still pass a basic vision screening. They may see 20/20, but struggle to smoothly follow words across a page, keep their place while reading, or make sense of what they see.
These challenges can make reading and learning harder than they need to be.
This Children’s Eye Health & Safety Month, remember: a vision screening checks some aspects of vision—but a comprehensive eye exam looks much deeper.
Because seeing clearly and processing what you see are two different things.
